Not in Hall of Fame News

We thought this was interesting In an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Slipknot frontman, Corey Taylor was asked about this year’s class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Taylor’s bluntness might entertain a lot of you: “The fact that Madonna got in before Deep Purple got in? Those people can kiss my ass. Like, fuck you. Stop calling it the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Stop. Because it's obvious that you don't give a shit about rock & roll. If you did, bands like Deep Purple and Cheap Trick would've been in years ago. And that's fucking…
The Boston Red Sox have announced that they will be finally retiring the number 23 of Wade Boggs, the first ballot hall of famer who spent the best years of his career playing in Fenway. In the 80’s, Boggs was regarded as one of the best contact hitters in baseball, his only rival being Tony Gwynn of the San Diego Padres.  Boggs would go on a tear, winning the Batting Title five times, the On Base Percentage Title six times and would have seven consecutive seasons collecting over 200 Hits.  The popular third baseman would be an All Star in…
A major retirement will take place at the end of the season as Oakland Raiders, Safety, Charles Woodson, has stated that this will be his final season in Professional Football. We told you that this would be a task that we would eventually get to. Regular visitors to Notinhalloffame.com might know that we have told you in past updates that we will be looking at the top fifty players in each major North American Franchise. For those unsure who exactly what the major North American Franchises are, it refers to the National Hockey League, National Football League, National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball.  Selected first are the Charlotte Hornets.  Why?  Honestly, there is no reason.  One of the 100 plus franchises has to go first, and the Hornets were…

RIP: Dickie Moore

It is another sad day in the world of hockey as Dickie Moore, the legendary Hall of Famer and Montreal Canadians legend passed away today at the age of 84. Moore would win six Stanley Cups as a member of the Canadians, playing alongside Maurice “Rocket” Richard and Jean Beliveau.  Moore was not just a participant, but a legitimate star in his own right, leading the National Hockey League in scoring twice and was an integral part of all of his six Stanley Cup rings. Moore could not only score as he was known for his defensive skills and aggressive…
When we set up our inaugural Notinhalloffame.com Rock and Roll list, the con that we stated against inducting Deep Purple was the immense amount of members that they had in the band and who they would induct.  As it turns out, members of Deep Purple had the same concerns. With the announcement that Deep Purple would be inducted, drummer, Ian Paice had this to say about those who would be chosen for the Rock Hall, and those who were not: "It'll be interesting, won't it?  It's a somewhat complicated situation. The personalities that are involved didn't always get on terrifically…
It appears that the change is official and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has reduced the time required to enter the institution after retirement from five years to four.  As such, we here at Notinhalloffame.com looked at those who were eligible in 2017, and found that there were five former players who are worthy of our top 100 and changes were made right from the top. Allen Iverson was at number one, but the former Point Guard lost that spot to the multi time NBA Champion, and one of the most dominating big men of all-time, Shaquille O’Neal.  It…
While we here at Notinhalloffame.com have always been consumed with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the news that stemmed with the newest class, another fairly significant Hall of Fame has announced their latest class. The International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame has announced the six new members of their Hall, all due for induction in 2016. The biggest name for most hockey fans is Sergei Fedorov, the flashy player from Russia.  Fedorov won the Stanley Cup three times with the Detroit Red Wings and was a former Hart Trophy winner and internationally he represented the Soviet…
For us at Notinhalloffame.com, Christmas always comes early.  The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced the new inductees and there are many people who are rejoicing and just as many who are disgusted. Deep Purple, who held the top stop on our list and have been in the top five since our website’s inception has made it on its third try.  Numerous band members have been vocal about their distaste for the Hall, however many Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have been very open about their desire to see the British rockers in.  This will necessitate…
