The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced four new groups who will be honored by the Canton-based institution.  The four new categories are Assistant Coaches, Athletic Trainers, Equipment Managers and Public Relations.  All winners will receive Awards of Excellence and their names will be displayed in a designated area starting in 2022. There will be five members of the inaugural class for each group. Committees have already been announced for each group. The Black College Football Hall of Fame announced 29 Finalists for the Class of 2022.  They will announce the Class on December 28. The Finalists were chosen from 200 nominees by an 11-member committee. The Player Finalists are: Joe Adams: Quarterback, Tennessee State, 1977-80. Antoine Bethea: Defensive Back, Howard, 2002-05. We have updated our Baseball futures, opening the 2025 section of all the new players who will be eligible for Cooperstown that year. Those former players are: Adam Jones:  Jones played for Baltimore for the majority of his career, and he was a five-time All-Star, four-time Gold Glove winner and one-time Silver Slugger.  He had 1,939 Hits and 282 Home Runs. Regular visitors of Notinhalloffame.com know that we are slowly working on the top 50 of every major team in the NHL, NBA, NFL and MLB.  Once that is done, we intend to look at how each team honor their past players, coaches and executives.  As such, it is news to us that the Minnesota Wild have announced that they will be retiring the number 9 of Mikko Koivu, making him the first player in franchise history to have his jersey retired.  The #1 was already retired by the organization to honor the fans.  The event will take place during their home game on March…

RIP: Curley Culp

Pro Football legend, Curley Culp passed away today due to complications from pancreatic cancer.  He was 75 years old. Culp announced earlier in the month that he had stage 4 cancer. Known for his raw strength, Culp was an All-American at Arizona State.  The Denver Broncos took him with their Second Round Pick in 1968, but they considered him a bad fit, and too short to make it in the NFL.  They traded him to the Kansas City Chiefs, and a year later, he was named an AFL All-Star, and was a large part of the team that won Super Bowl IV.  With Kansas…

It’s Thanksgiving week in the United States, and we here at Notinhalloffame.com have a lot to be thankful for. Days after the 2022 Baseball Hall of Fame ballot was released, the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced the 26 men who gave advanced to the Semi-Final round.  This group was pared down form 123 Preliminary candidates.
