The University of Indiana Athletic Hall of Fame has announced six new names who will be inducted into their institution. The Class of 2019 is: Eric Anderson, Men’s Basketball (1989-92):  Playing at Power Forward, Anderson was a Hoosier for 131 Games, and would score 1,715 Points and 826 Rebounds. Kay Burrus, Field Hockey & Women’s Basketball Coach (1962-76):  Burrus pulled double duty coaching both field hockey and women’s basketball for Indiana for over a decade. Chris Gartner, Football(1970-72):  Gartner would be the Hoosiers’ Place Kicker for three years. Jeff Overton, Men’s Golf (2002-05):  Currently on the PGA Tour, Overton would help Indiana win the…
The Poker Hall of Fame has announced their 10 Finalists for the Class of 2019. The 10 Finalists are: Chris Bjornin: From Sweden, Bjornin has earned $5.7 million on the tour winning two WSOP Gold Bracelets.  He is eighth all-time on the cash list and is second all-time among Swedish born players.  Bjornin has none WSOP Main Event cash-ins. David Chiu: From China, David Chu is a five-time WSOP Gold Bracelet winner.  He has made $8 million over his career, which began in 1996. Eli Elezra: From Israel, Elezra has won over $3.7 million on the tour and four WSOP Gold Medal Bracelets.…

We have another retirement to look at as Quarterback, Josh McCown, has announced that his 17-year career is over. Drafted from the 3rdRound in 2002 out of Sam Houston St by the Arizona Cardinals, McCown was predominantly a backup but was a starter with Arizona (2004), Oakland (2007), Tampa Bay (2014) and the New York Jets (2017) and he would also play for Detroit, Chicago and Cleveland. RIP: Pat Bowlen

It is a very sad day in Denver and the world of Football at large as Pat Bowlen, the owner of the Denver Broncos passed away at the age of 75 after a long bout with Alzheimer’s.  He was 75 years old. Bowlen purchased the team in 1984 and under his ownership the team went from mediocre to one of the flagships of the National Football League.  The Broncos went to seven Super Bowls winning three of them and he would become the first owner to see his team win 300 Games under his/her/their first 30 years of ownership.  He would be elected…

The University of Oregon has announced the members of their 2019 Athletic Hall of Fame. The new members will be: Mike Bellotti:  Bellotti became the Offensive Coordinator for the Ducks Football program in 1989 and he would hold that position until the 1995 season when he would take over as the team’s Head Coach.  He would have a record of 116-55 (1995-2008) and his run was highlighted by their 2001 Fiesta Bowl win.  Bellotti was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
