Regular visitors of Notinhalloffame.com know that we are slowly working on the top 50 of every major team in the NHL, NBA, NFL and MLB. Once that is done, we intend to look at how each team honor their past players, coaches and executives.  Eventually, we plan to do that for the major colleges in the NCAA.  As such, it is news to us that Creighton University has announced the three members of their Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2020. Sports may be in limbo, Hall of Fames may be closed, but Hall of Fame related news continues. The Marshall University Athletic Hall of Fame has announced the newest members who will comprise the 2020 Class. The nine new members are: Karla May, Basketball (1982-86).  May is the all-time leader in Assists (751) and she helped the Thundering Hers win two Southern Conference regular season titles. Maybe there is a light at the end of the Corona tunnel. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced that the rescheduled 2020 induction ceremony will take place on November 7 at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio.  It is scheduled to be broadcast live on HBO, which will be the first time that the ceremony will not be aired on a multi-month delay. The ceremony was originally scheduled in May, with the inductees being Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, the Notorious B.I.G., T-Rex, Jon Landau and Irving Azoff. This really should not shock us anymore, but here we are with a sudden retirement in the NFL, as Dallas Cowboy, Travis Frederick announced on social media that age 29, he is ending his pro football career. Taken with the 31st overall pick in 2013, Frederick came from the University of Wisconsin to start immediately at Center for Dallas. Frederick became the literal centerpiece of what became one of the most dominating offensive linemen in pro football. From 2014 to 2017, he was named to the Pro Bowl, and a First Team All-Pro Selection came his way in 2014. RIP: Kenny Rogers

It was announced that Kenny Rogers, passed away last night at the age of 81 due to natural causes. A legend in country music, it took a long time before Rogers achieved stardom.  The native Texan went from a rockabilly group, to a jazz ensemble, to psychedelic, to folk, and after more than a decade plus he found his first real success with the First Edition. The group (later renamed Kenny Rogers and the First Edition) would have a hit with “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love to Town”, which although was not a country song, it had a country flavor to…

The World Video Game Hall of Fame is housed at the Strong Museum in Rochester, New York.  It also is the home of the Toy Hall of Fame.
Impact Wrestling announced that Ken Shamrock will be entering their Hall of Fame, which was formerly known as the TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame.  Shamrock is a pioneer in Mixed Martial Arts, and a member of the UFC Hall of Fame.  The former UFC main eventer would become a star in the WWE, where he won the King of the Ring, the Intercontinental and Tag Team Championship.  His influence in bringing an MMA style into professional wrestling is unquestionable. Hall of Fame related cancellations just keep on coming.   The Baseball Hall of Fame has announced that all of the events of the Hall of Fame Classic Weekend on may 23 have been cancelled. Those events include the annual legends game, the Night at the Museum program and the BASE Race Charity Run The Hall itself is already closed indefinitely.
Ben Watson, who last played with the New England Patriots, has announced that he is retiring from the NFL.  This is his second retirement, as he called it a career after the 2018 season before as a member of the New Orleans Saints.  He came out of retirement when he signed with the Pats last year. Drafted with the last pick of the first round in 2004, Watson won a Super Bowl ring as a rookie.  While that would be the only championship hardware he would obtain, Watson enjoyed a long and productive career.  Five times he would have at least 500 Yards, and…
With all of the Hall of Fame related news being about the physical buildings shutting down, it is nice to talk about something else for a change. In an interview with Tokyo Sports, Jushin “Thunder” Liger said that he will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.  This was confirmed by the WWE later today. Born Keiichi Yamada, Liger made his debut in 1984, and after wrestling around the world, he took on the Liger persona in 1989.  Immediately, he took over the Junior Heavyweight division, and was renowned for his innovative high-flying style.
