Los Angeles Clipper, Paul Pierce announced prior to the 2016-17 season that this would be his last in the National Basketball Association. We have said before that the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame has quickly become one of our favorite franchise Halls. Today they added to it as three former St. Louis Cardinals, Mark McGwire, Pepper Martin and Tim McCarver have been chosen. For most people this isn’t news. Of course, most people don’t own the Fictitious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Last night at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles, three of the four actors who portrayed “The Wonders” took to the stage and played their hit in both fiction and reality, “That Thing You Do”. The Rock and Roll HOF Ceremony returns to Cleveland

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony of 2017 is in the books but that doesn’t mean that we can’t look forward to the 2018 version. So far, we like what we see. Cleveland will be the host of the ceremony, to be held at on April 18 at the Public Hall. It was last held there three years ago, a continuing pattern as it was also there in 2012 and 2009. HBO will again have the exclusive rights to broadcast the event. Perhaps this will be the year that Notinhalloffame.com will attend!

Another day and another significant retirement in the National Football League… Jake Long, the #1 Draft Pick from 2008 has announced that he is calling it quits after a nine year career. The UFC Hall of Fame has announced the second member for their Class of 2017 as former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Maurice Smith has been named to the up and coming institution. A former kickboxing champion in multiple organizations in both the Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight division, Smith would compete in mixed martial arts in the 90’s, most notably in Pancrase where he competed in matches against Minoru Suzuki, Ken Shamrock and Bas Rutten. We have another significant retirement in the National Football League as former Wide Receiver, Roddy White, has officially called it a career. A first round pick (27th Overall) in 2005 out of UAB, White would become a bona fide star in 2007 where he would secure his first of what would be six consecutive 1,000 Yard seasons.
