RIP: Tom Petty

First the Las Vegas shootings, now the death of Tom Petty. This is truly a sad day for America.At the age of 66, Petty went into full cardiac arrest in his home in Malibu and by the time he was brought to the hospital there was no brain activity. He would die hours later after being pulled from life support.Born in 1950 in Gainesville, Florida, Petty formed the Heartbreakers in 1977. Another sad day has taken place in the world of professional wrestling.Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, considered the greatest manager in professional wrestling history passed away today at the age of 72. While the cause of death was not announced, Heenan suffered from various forms of cancer over the last fifteen years, most significantly in the throat area where his jaw was removed. The Los Angeles Lakers have announced what many of us have long suspected they would do, they will be retiring the numbers 8 and 24 of Kobe Bryant this season. It was announced today that Hockey Hall of Famer Pierre Pilote passed away at the age of 85. Pilote was one of the most accomplished Defenceman in the National Hockey League throughout the 1960’s and he was named the Norris Trophy winner three seasons in a row (1963-63).
