The Cleveland Indians have announced their latest class for their franchise’s Hall of Fame, which includes a current Baseball Hall of Fame and a future one. The Class of 2016 consists of Jim Thome, Albert Belle, Frank Robinson and Charlie Jamieson, who will all be officially inducted a ceremony on July 30.  Jim Thome played for the Tribe for thirteen seasons, first coming up in the 1995 season and staying there until he signed with the Philadelphia Phillies for the 2003 season.  As an Indian, Thome would make three All Star Games, and won a Silver Slugger.  Statistically, Thome accumulated…
Recently the Seattle Mariners announced that Ken Griffey Jr. will have his number retired by the organization; this following his selection to the Baseball Hall of Fame.  Ken Griffey Jr. was not the only 2016 inductee as former Major League Catcher, Mike Piazza will be joining him.  Piazza will also enjoy a similar accolade, as the New York Mets have announced that they will be retiring his number. The Canadian Music Hall of Fame has announced the latest entry to their institution and it is a name who has already has been inducted. Burton Cummings, who was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame previously with the Guess Who in 1987, will now be inducted for his solo work, which began in 1976 after he left Guess Who.  Cummings did not have the same success in the United States as he did with the Guess Who, though he did go to number ten with his first single, “Stand Tall”.  In his native Canada, Cummings would have five…

The WWE Hall of Fame is fast approaching and with the headliner of Sting already announced as the headliner there has been much speculation as to who will the join the icon. You will have to forgive us, as we are a little late on this one.  Wide Receiver, Reggie Wayne, has announced that he will be officially retiring.  Wayne had asked for his release at the end of pre-season from the New England Patriots this year, but not was able to latch on to any other team.  With this official retirement, Reggie Wayne retires with some serious Hall of Fame credentials.  A six time Pro Bowl Selection, Wayne caught 1,070 passes for 14,345 Yards and 82 Touchdowns, and is 7th, 8th and 23rd respectively in those categories, all-time. The Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame has announced that Pitchers, Masaki Saito and Kimiyasu Kudoh will be entering their institution. Kudoh is one of the most decorated pitchers in Japanese baseball history and becomes only the fourth player to enter the Hall on the first ballot.  Kudoh is an eleven time Japan Series Champion, a two time MVP and would lead the league in ERA four times.  Currently, Kimiyasu Kudoh is the Manager of the Fukuoka Hawks. Pete Rose may never get into the Baseball Hall of Fame.  However the Cincinnati Reds, the team in which Rose spent the bulk of his career with, has decided to ignore the nearly three decade ban that was upheld by Major League Baseball Commissioner, Rob Manfred, as they will be inducting the Hit King into their franchise’s Baseball Hall of Fame. RIP: Glenn Frey

It was announced today that Glenn Frey died at the age of 67.  It is unknown at this time how he died but according to TMZ.com, he had been battling intestinal issues for the past few months.  Frey was a founding member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, The Eagles, and wrote or co-wrote many of the band’s songs.  Frey was also the lead singer for many of their hit songs, including “Take It Easy”, “Tequila Sunrise”, “Peaceful Easy Feeling”, “Lyin’ Eyes”, “Already Gone”, “Heartache Tonight” and “New Kid In Town”.
