Recently we wrote about the retirement of Julian Edelman, who has been the topic of Hall of Fame discussion, as countless publications have prognosticated about his chances. It has ranged from good to zero, and if we can give our pair of pennies on it, it is this. The New England Patriots Hall of Fame will nominate him, and the voting public will induct him. The Canadian Football Hall of Fame has announced the Class of 2021, which comprises of five former players, a coach and contributor. The new members are: Will Johnson, Linebacker. Calgary 1989-96 & Saskatchewan 1997. From Northeast Louisiana, Johnson briefly played for the Chicago Bears, before finding a home with the Calgary Stampeders. A five-time CFL All-Star, Johnson anchored the team to a win in the 1992 Grey Cup. Individually, Johnson recorded 99 Sacks over his career, twice leading the league in that stat. Marv Levy, Coach. New England Patriots Wide Receiver, Julian Edelman, has retired. Edelman, who is 34, played only six Games last year due to chronic knee issues, played all 12 of years in the NFL with the Pats. Edelman’s story is a phenomenal one, as despite being a Quarterback at Kent State, Patriots Head Coach, Bill Belichik saw him as a possible receiver/returner, and as often was the case, he was right. A sad day in the world of Rap Music has occurred as Earl Simmons, known professionally as DMX, has passed away at the age of 50. DMX had a heart attack last week, and had been on life support for many days. We can’t tell you how much we love this. The Cincinnati Bengals have announced the creation of the Bengals Ring of Honor, which will have four names in their inaugural class, two of which, they have already named. Those two are Paul Brown and Anthony Munoz. Brown, who built the Cleveland Browns decades earlier and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967, became the inaugural Head Coach of the Bengals in 1968.
