There are five awards, the MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Sophomore of the Year.  We will not award a Coach of the Year until the playoffs are over.  These awards ONLY reflect the regular season. The final two names for the first class of the Premier League Hall of Fame as David Beckham and Steven Gerrard were chosen. Beckham was the most popular athlete in the world at one time, and his EPL career was stellar.  Playing for Manchester United from 1992 to 2003, the Midfielder had 62 Goals, and helped the squad win six Premier League Titles, two FA Cups and the UEFA Champions League Title in 1999. Gerrard scored 120 Goals for Liverpool (1998-15) and led the team to FA Titles in 2001 & 2005 and the Champions League in 2005. They join Eric…
For the first time, Notinhalloffame.com is awarding our first ever NBA Regular Season Cup, which generates the automatic question…what the hell is that? With every single regular season game, we anointed the best five players in the game with descending points, 5-4-3-2-1.  Nearly 400 players received at least one point, with over a dozen cracking at least 200.   The top players for the NIHOF Cup are not always the best in the league, as injuries keep players out of games, and a premium on staying healthy can help pile up points.  It also does not hurt to be a top player on…
Four new names have been chosen for the Premier League Hall of Fame this week, two yesterday (Eric Cantona and Roy Keane) and two today (Frank Lampard and Dennis Bergkamp). Cantona was an enigmatic Frenchan who closed his career with Manchester United (1992-97), where he would become their captain.  Scoring 64 Goals for Man U, Cantona brought four consecutive EPL Titles (1993-97) and two FA Cups. Keane played for Manchester United from 1993 to 2005, where the Irishman was a massive part of seven EPL Titles, three FA Cups and the Champions League Title in 1999. Lampard scored 177 Goals in…
The day after the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inducted the Class of 2020, the Class of 2021 has been announced. Let’s get right to it: The members of the Class of 2021 are: Val Ackerman:  After her playing career ended, Ackerman worked in the legal field and would later be a special assistant to NBA Commissioner, David Stern.  She would become the first President of the WNBA (serving eight years) and became an appointee to the Board of Directors of USA Basketball.   Rick Adelman:  Adelman was a former WCC Player of the Year, but he enters the Hall as a Coach,…
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame annual classes always elicits passionate reactions, but we here at Notinhalloffame.com have been open on our belief that they are trending in the right direction. Gene Simmons, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, and founding member of KISS slammed the Class of 2021, citing the snubs of nominees, Rage Against the Machine and Iron Maiden. Sadly, Rage Against The Machine shut out of RR Hall of Fame. The Hall should be ashamed of themselves…. — Gene Simmons (@genesimmons) May 13, 2021 Simmons has been critical about the Hall before, first regarding the…
Yes, we know that this is taking a while! As many of you know, we here at Notinhalloffame.com are slowly generating the 50 of each major North American sports team.  That being said, we have existing Top 50 lists out and we always consistently look to update them when we can and based on necessity.  As such, we are very happy to present our pre-2021 revision of our top 50 Carolina Panthers of all-time. As for all of our top 50 players in football we look at the following:  1.  Advanced Statistics. 2.  Traditional statistics and how they finished in the NFL.  3.  Playoff accomplishments.…
As much as we openly criticize the lack of transparency of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the day that announce their newest members is like Christmas morning to us.  We openly said that this year’s list of nominees is one of the best in the last twenty years, and it was poised to be a great class no matter who was selected. Having said that, it is a large class, with six performers, three early influences, three Musical Excellence inductees and one Ahmet Excellent Award recipient.   While we appreciate the wide breadth of inductees, the crowbarring of certain inductees…

RIP: Lloyd Price

A legend of rock and R&B has passed away as Lloyd Price died from diabetes at the age of 88.  Price died on May 3, but it was only announced yesterday. Price had a number one hit on the R&B Charts in 1952 with “Lawdy Miss Clawdy” in 1952, and his next four singles also went to the top five.  His career stalled after a stint in the army, but in 1958, in what was now the rock and roll era, he was back with the controversial “Stagger Lee”, a song that went to the top of both the R&B and Hot…
