Finkel was the first employee of the WWE, when Vince McMahon Sr. hired him in 1975.  Over the years, Finkel has been the ring announcer at Madison Square Gardens, Pay Per Views, and numerous television shows until 2000, when he was replaced by Lillian Garcia.  He remained employed by the WWE in an office role. RIP: Willie Davis

The Green Bay Packers lost one of its own as former Defensive End, Willie Davis passed away after a long battle with kidney-related problems. He was 85 years old. Playing his college ball at Grambling, Davis was drafted in the 15thRound by the Cleveland Browns, but due to military service, he did not suit up on the gridiron until 1958.  Davis was with the Browns for two years, but he was not a starter there, and he was traded to Green Bay in 1960, which was where he became part of a dynasty. It was announced yesterday that former Philadelphia Eagles great, Pete Retzlaff, passed away at the age of 88. Retzlaff was drafted in the 22nd Round by the Detroit Lions in 1953, but the product of South Dakota State did not make the team.  After serving in the army for two years, he again tried out in the NFL, making the Eagles roster in 1956. RIP: John Prine

John Prine passed away due to complications from COVID-19. He was 73 years old. Based in Chicago, Prine was an active musician from 1971, spinning blue collar tales with a country-folk flair.  Prine may not have ever become a superstar in musical terms, but his peers viewed him as one of the greatest songwriters of his generation. For his work, Prine was nominated in 2018 for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We here at Notinhalloffame.com would like to extend our condolences to the friends and family of John Prine.

RIP: Al Kaline

The world of Baseball lost a legend today as it was announced that Al Kaline passed away today at the age of 85.  The cause of death was not disclosed. The Outfielder debuted in 1953 as a teenager, and he would play a total of 22 seasons in the Majors, all of which were with the Detroit Tigers.  Kaline would become a star quickly, going to the All-Star Game in 15 of his seasons, and finishing in the top ten in MVP voting nine times.  His other accolades included winning the 1955 Batting Titles, ten Gold Gloves, and he would help Detroit win…

A star at the University of Illinois, Mitchell was chosen by the Cleveland Browns with their seventh round pick in 1958.  Mitchell would share the backfield with the legendary Jim Brown, where he would play four seasons, totalling 3,759 Yards from Scrimmage with 32 Touchdowns. On the weekend of what was supposed to be NCAA’s Final Four, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced today their Class of 2020. As expected, the triumvirate of Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett have all been selected for Springfield.  They comprised the top three in our most recent Notinhalloffame.com list of those to consider for the Hall.
