The Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York will soon be announcing their Class of 2020.  On the other side of the world, they have just inducted their latest class to the Japanese Hall of Fame. The headliner is Koichi Tabuchi, who is one of three members who were chosen for the Hall.  Tabuchi, who was chosen by the Expert Division, played from 1969 to 1978 with the Hanshin Tigers, and from 1979 to 1984 with the Seibu Lions.  The Catcher would have 1,532 Hits with 474 Home Runs over his career, and is a former Rookie of the Year, one-time Gome…

Breaking from tradition, Hall of Fame President, David Baker appeared on the CBS pre-game show on Saturday and announced to former Pittsburgh Steelers, Head Coach, Bill Cowher, that he had been selected by the Blue Ribbon Centennial Committee to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Last night, during halftime of the Seahawks/Packers Game, Baker appeared again and made the same announcement to former Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins Head Coach, Jimmy Johnson. RIP: Neil Peart

This is a dark day in Rock and Roll.  It was announced today that Rush Drummer, Neil Peart passed away three days ago after a long battle with brain cancer.  He was 67 years old. Peart was considered by musicians and critics alike as one of the most technically proficient drummer that rock music had ever seen. Along with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, the Canadian Progressive Rock trio of Rush first recorded in 1974, and they received immediate airplay in Canada.  Unlike many Canadian bands in the 1970s, their popularity went well beyond their border.  In addition to his drumming expertise, he was an…

Kyle Long Retires

Chicago Bears Offensive Guard had announced that he is retiring from the National Football League, ending a seven-year career spent entirely in the Windy City.  He made the announcement on Twitter. Playing his college ball at Oregon, Long was drafted by Chicago 20thoverall in 2013.  The son of Pro Football Hall of Famer, Howie Long, and brother of former NFL star, Chris Long, made an immediate impact, going to the Pro Bowl as a rookie, and he would repeat that accolade in 2014 and 2015. RIP: David Stern

It is a very sad day in the world of Basketball, as former NBA Commissioner, David Stern, passed away today at the age of 77. Stern was first involved in the NBA in 1966, when he was hired by the law firm that represented the league.  In 1978, he was officially hired by the NBA, as he became General Counsel under the then Commissioner, Larry O’Brien.  He would then take over for O’Brien on February 1, 1984.   Stern would serve in this capacity for precisely 30 years.  Under his tenure, the NBA grew by seven teams, and expanded into Canada.  He oversaw the expansion…
