The Misfits are not members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, however this does not mean that they will not be there in some capacity.

In commemoration of the group’s first performance forty years ago at the famed CBGB club in New York City, artifacts from the band will be at display. Specifically, founding member, Jerry Only’s custom bass guitar and the leather vest are now on display.

The items are on display with other former possessions of the Ramones and the Talking Heads.

For what it is worth, The Misfits are ranked #218 on our latest Notinhalloffame.com Rock and Roll list.
This was a little unexpected!

Today, we woke up to a major retirement in the National Football League, as Quarterback Tony Romo is calling it a career and joining the CBS broadcasting team.  It was expected that Romo would continue his career and possibly sign with either the Denver Broncos or the Houston Texans and continue his playing career but this move certainly ends that.

Romo lost his starting Quarterback job due to injury to Dak Prescott, but had a very good career in the NFL, playing all of his fourteen seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.  Undrafted out of Eastern Illinois, Dallas signed him as a Free Agent in 2003 and through hard work would win the starting job from Drew Bledsoe midway through the ’06 season, where he would finish up so good that he would be named to his first of what would be four Pro Bowls.

While he was not able to take the Cowboys to the Super Bowl, Romo was considered one of the better QBs in the league for over a decade and finihes his career with 34,183 Passing Yards with 248 Touchdown Passes.  Romo’s best season statistically was 2014, where he would lead the NFL in Passer Rating and was 97 Yards short of 5,000 for the season.

This is a good career, but one that may not be good enough to get into him into the Pro Football Hall of Fame it should warrant him a spot on our Notinhalloffame.com List for Hall of Fame consideration.  He will be eligible for the Hall in 2022.

We here at Notinhalloffame.com would like to congratulate Tony Romo for an excellent career and wish him the best in his new role alongside Jim Nantz at CBS.
Well, there is one mystery answered for the upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony.

Steve Perry, the former lead singer of Journey will be on hand to accept the induction, though according to Jonathan Cain, the keyboardist, it is was implied that he would not be performing with the group.  This was from an interview with the Dayton Daily News:

"As far as we know he's just going to accept the award and then skedaddle. That's all I know, unless something changes. Arnel is going to represent very well, like he always does."

Arnel, is Arnel Pineda, who was plucked from obscurity to become the band’s lead singer, a role he has had for the past ten years.  Pineda himself has stated that he is looking forward to meeting Perry, whom he has never met.  Notably, Pineda is not amongst the band members who are being inducted.

The odds are that we haven’t finished reporting on the upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony!
Not only is this the Final Four Weekend, it is another milestone day for us at Notinhalloffame.com as the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has announced their Class of 2017.

For us, the headliner is Tracy McGrady, the seven time All Star who had had prolific runs with the Orlando Magic and the Houston Rockets.  McGrady was a two time scoring champion and would score more than 20 Points per Game eight years in a row.  Notably, T-Mac would be named an All NBA player seven times.  This was his first year of eligibility.

Collegiately speaking, the big name is Bill Self, the Head Coach of Kansas, who has an overall record of 623 and 192.  He would take the Jayhawks to the National Championship in 2012.

Rebecca Lobo headlines the women’s side of the ledger.  Lobo was a star of the University of Connecticut team that won the NCAA Title in 1995 and went 35 and 0.  She would go on to the WNBA and was an All Star in 1999.

Lobo is joined by Muffet McGraw, the Head Coach for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish’ women’s team since 1987.  She would take her team to the NCAA Title in 2001.

The recently deceased Jerry Krause was also chosen.  Krause was the owner of the Chicago Bulls team that ran roughshod through the NBA in the 1990’s winning six titles.

Representing the ABA is two time ABA Champion, George McGinnis.  The former Indiana Hoosier was the ABA MVP in 1975 and after the merge with the NBA would make three All Star Games there.

The class is rounded out by High School Coach Bob Hughes, former NCAA Vice President Tom Jernstedt, European player, Nikos Galis and Zach Clayton and Mannie Jackson of the Harlem Globetrotters.

We here at Notinhalloffame.com would like to congratulate this latest class and we will again begin work on our Notinhalloffame.com Basketball list.
