Roddy White officially retires

We have another significant retirement in the National Football League as former Wide Receiver, Roddy White, has officially called it a career.
A first round pick (27th Overall) in 2005 out of UAB, White would become a bona fide star in 2007 where he would secure his first of what would be six consecutive 1,000 Yard seasons. The following season, White would rattle off four straight trip to the Pro Bowl, the best of which was in 2010, where he would be named a First Team All Pro and lead the NFL in Receptions.
White ends his career with 10,863 Receiving Yards, all of which were with the Atlanta Falcons, the most in franchise history.
White did not play in 2016, after being released by Atlanta after 2015. For those (Ok, us) wondering about when he will be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which will be in 2021.
Of course, we will soon be adding him to our 2021 Futures.

Dave Abbruzzese sounds off again

Well, we can’t say that this is the hardest we ever worked on an article.
We will keep this one simple as once again former Pearl Jam drummer, Dave Abbruzzese, has spoken out about the induction of his former band.
As you can imagine, it isn’t very positive.
It is taken from a comment he made on his own YouTube channel, which was in response to a poster saying how the drummers were invited to the ceremony:
“Hello, David Abbruzzese here….
Not true, the band and the hall did not invite or contact me.. The band tweeted that they welcomed the idea of the event granting the possibility of all the drummers to be in the same room. That isnt an invite.
I personally have deep respect for all drummers and of course the five that participated in the pearl jam bands carreer… I am going to say this; For the band to put me in the same light as Matt Chamberlain & Dave K really was a slap in the face. Nothing to do with those guys as people or players. Respect… but as a contributor? A band member? A definitive contributor to the energy and power of where the band went? …the sacrifices, the work, the physical and emotional contributions…not to mention the personal weight of carrying onthrough and after unceremonious and disrespectful way I was fired. I gave this band all I had to give every single moment I was in it. I never played for a paycheck. I never let the band down. I never let the music down. I never let the fans down… not once. I suppose that is why I am still such a point of contention. Truth be told, if I would have been inducted, I would have requested my tech, Jimmy Shoaf Jr. and my daughter, Francesca to say a few words on my behalf. If they had invited me to be there to witness the bands induction? Nope. To do that would justify the mistake and disrespect the core fans that took this band to heart back when all we were to become, we had to earn and also, most importantly, we had to prove we deserved every single time we took the stage. And we did that. We, the Pearl Jam band & original crew, deserved to be inducted & respected. I’m proud of my old friends for managing it all so well. I dont know if I heard anyone say it, but you’re welcome and thank you, too”

Our Football Revisions are Complete! Ray Lewis to No. 1

The core of our Notinhalloffame.com has always been our sports lists. As such, it is with great pride that we have updated our Pro Football Hall of Fame list of those to consider for enshrinement in Canton, Ohio
The 2017 Hall of Fame Class added five players who we had listed (LaDainian Tomlinson, Jason Taylor, Terrell Davis, Kurt Warner and Morten Andersen), and we did not have trouble replacing them. Actually, we have increased our 100 slightly to 103, for an impending increase in the months (ok, maybe years to come).
The revised ranking is based on your votes and comments and the addition of newly eligible former players.
Let’s get right to it!
Former Baltimore Ravens Linebacker Ray Lewis debuts at the number one spot. The 13 Time Pro Bowl Selection was chosen for seven First Team All Pro slots and took Baltimore to two Super Bowl wins. Lewis is likely to get inducted on his first try.
This drops perennial snub, Jerry Kramer to number 2. Kramer was a Finalist nine times and helped Green Bay win the first two Super Bowls. He is the only member of the NFL 75th Anniversary Team not to be enshrined.
Randy Moss makes his first appearance on the list at #3. The former Wide Receiver is the highest ranked skill player and his appearance makes it harder for Terrell Owens to get in. Moss was a Pro Bowler seven times and is third all-time in Receiving Yards and second all-time in Receiving Touchdowns.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers Offensive Lineman, Alan Faneca, remains at number four. Faneca, a nine time Pro Bowler was a Finalist for Canton in the past two seasons.
Chuck Howley comes in at number five. The MVP of Super Bowl V was a six time Pro Bowl Selection and was chosen for five consecutive First Team All Pros.
Another former Pittsburgh Steeler, L.C. Greenwood is in the top ten at number six. Greenwood has been named a Finalist six times and was a part of the Steelers dynasty that won four Super Bowls in the 1970’s. He was ranked #5 last year.
Brian Dawkins returns at number seven. “Weapon X” was eligible for the first time last year and many expected that he would get inducted on his first try. He didn’t but was a Finalist last yea
At number eight is Terrell Owens, who dropped two spots from last year. T.O was a finalist in his first two years of eligibility but has been very vocal about being passed over. This could really cost him. He is second all-time in Receiving Yards, third in Receiving Touchdowns and eight in Receptions.
Brian Urlacher debuts at number nine, making three new eligible in the top ten. The career Chicago Bear went to eight Pro Bowls and was selected for four First Team All Pros.
Rounding out the top ten is Johnny Robinson who is known for his time with the Kansas City Chiefs. The former Safety has been a Hall of Fame Finalist six times and has a Super Bowl ring with the Chiefs.
Another high profile debut entry is Ronde Barber, the long time Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defensive Back who appears at #15.
Offensive Lineman, Steve Hutchinson makes his first appearance on the list at #34.
Former three time Super Bowl winner with the New England Patriots, Richard Seymour comes in at #48. He is a seven time Pro Bowler.
Matt Birk, the Center who split his career with the Minnesota Vikings and the Baltimore Ravens, is ranked at #67.
Jeff Saturday, who protected Peyton Manning for Years and went to six Pro Bowls makes his debut at #76.
We have also added Tony Boselli, who was a Finalist last year, but was unranked by us previously. The man considered to be the greatest Jacksonville Jaguar of all-time finally makes his first appearance on our list at number 81.

Yes, our guilt alone will tell you once again that we acknowledge that this is a very slow process!
With the 2017 Major League Baseball Season underway, we are pleased to present our next top 50, which features the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Blue Brew Crew has only made the playoffs four times, with only one trip to the Fall Classic, a losing effort in 1982. Still this is a team who has produced Hall of Famers and has a healthy fan base that should see this team remain in the state of Wisconsin.
