Not in Hall of Fame News

Last year. four of our top ten candidates were named to the Hockey Hall of Fame. Coincidently, we have four first year candidates who have taken there place; including our new number one: Joe Sakic. We have a lot of reason to think that Sakic will get in on his first year. In the bost basic terms, he has the career numbers, strong individual seasons and championships both Internationally and profesionally. The career Nordique/Avalanche forward is joined other first time candidates, Brendan Shanahan (#5), Mats Sundin (#6) and Jeremy Roenick (#7) who may not be first ballot Hall of Famers;…
With special to thanks to our member, Spheniscus, we here at Notinhalloffame are pleased to announce the launch of a new section here: The NASCAR list. The NASCAR Hall of Fame has only been in place for a few years, but with a beautiful building and a loyal fan base, this is a Hall with some serious legs. Please take a look at this new section which helps complete our major sports section.
Gang..... i got to thinking..... With the NCAA Basketball class announced, and with Garth Brooks also being named to the Country Music Hall of Fame; are there other Halls of Fame that you would like to see profiled here? Should we start looking at the Collgiate Ranks? There is a Boxing Hall of Fame, but honestly is that sport worth looking at anymore? What about UFC? It is a relatively new sport, but one that garnishes a lot of attention. Should we look at the Hip Hop Hall of Fame, Country Music and Pop Music Hall of Fame? What would…
Gang, I know that we don't rank the NCAA Basketball Hall of Fame, but I did think it was worth mentioning that the ten man class of 2012 has been announced. This includes: Joe B. Hall who succeeded Adolph Rupp at Kentucky and led the Wildcats to a championship in 1978. Patrick Ewing who was a megastar for the Georgetown Hoyas, and later became a Basketball Hall of Famer with the New York Knicks. Earl Monroe who was a forty point per game scorer at Winston Salem State. Willis Reed who led Grambling to three NAIA Championships. Claude Lovellette who…
Very Random thought....Those sports fans not in a hole are very aware of the New Orleans Saints "Bountygate" and the constant debates on what the impending fallout may be. What we haven't heard (unless we missed it somewhere) is what ripple this may cause the Football Hall of Fame. Unless, we are mistaken, we can think of only one potentail casulty: Sean Payton. With a Super Bowl ring and an age under fifty, Payton's coaching future was as bright as his brief head coaching past. However, potential fallout of Bountygate could result in him being suspended, or possibly fired. With…
Gang, if you haven't noticed already, a new section is up on the Rock and Roll section located on the left hand side. The 100 Worst songs of Modern Pop Culture are now up for you to take a look at, which covers multiple decades and genres, and perhaps even a few songs you are not familiar with. The ratings are a little different, as you can vote to your opinion of the song. Let us know your thoughts!

RIP: Davy Jones

The Monkees are one of the more polarizng debate for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Detractors accuratly point to the fact their greatest hits were not written by them, nor did they perform on their earlier records. However, many of those songs that they performed (and did so live in concert often) have aged remarkably well and remain pop classics. It is that positive aspect that we will focus on today, as we mourn the loss of their lead singer, Davy Jones. Jones and the rest of the Monkees may have been put together for the purpose of…
In our first Basketball Hall of Fame List, we annointed Mel Daniels as our top selection. He won't be there on the second list, as today he was selected as one of five automatic entrants to the Hall. Daniels was selected by the American Basketball Association Committee, and really who else should they have selected? Chet Walker holds our #13 spot, but he do will be removed on the next list. Walker was selected by the Veteran's Committee. With our #2 (Reggie Miller) and #3 (Bernard King) selections as nominees, we look forward to a brand new top five come…
The Basketball Hall of Fame has announced its finalists. As always, it encompasses a wide arrange of talent from NBA All Stars, Coaches and female candidates. As you know, we only rank players from the NBA/ABA, but we would like to take a look at the 12 candidates, of which the inductees will be revealed at this year's Final Four. The All American Red Heads Considered the first professional women's team, this barnstorming group began in 1936 and do hold a historical significance in women's baseketball. They are however not well known, though that has not stopped the Hall in…
