Other Halls of Fame you want to see?

Gang..... i got to thinking..... With the NCAA Basketball class announced, and with Garth Brooks also being named to the Country Music Hall of Fame; are there other Halls of Fame that you would like to see profiled here?  Should we start looking at the Collgiate Ranks?  There is a Boxing Hall of Fame, but honestly is that sport worth looking at anymore?  What about UFC?  It is a relatively new sport, but one that garnishes a lot of attention.  Should we look at the Hip Hop Hall of Fame, Country Music and Pop Music Hall of Fame?

What would you like to see next?

There is also the Songwriters Hall of Fame, which is virtual (no physical location yet) but has been around for a while. Queen has been inducted, so the bar cannot be that high, and you have to wonder about Mac Davis, Neil Diamond, Jon Bon Jovi, and even Eric Clapton when the notable snubs include Neil Young, Frank Zappa, Pete Townshend, Ray Davies, and Robert Johnson. (Although with respect to Johnson, the true authorship of many pre-WWII blues songs is difficult to determine.) The more I look at their list, the more this looks like one to add, both good and bad. (You can get info from Wikipedia.)

Speaking of the Country Music Hall of Fame, here is my top 5 I think should be inducted in no particular order: Charlie Daniels Band, Kenny Rogers, Ronnie Milsap, Hank Williams Jr. and Dottie West.

It would be intersting.. .. would not even know where to start on a section like that!

Taking out "Mister Toad's Wild Ride" at Disney World was a crime against humanity. I certainly think the whole gamut of amusement park rides should be so honored.

I think there is a Toy Hall of Fame. And tha would make for fun debates.

How about the Toy Hall of Fame, that might be interesting to debate on?

There is also the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. It has a fair degree of overlap with the RnRHoF, and its standards might also be suspect--Jou rney has been inducted.

I love the idea of a Jazz Hall of Fame. However, there is not a single, or overarching, HoF for jazz--there appear to be a couple of defunct ones and a number of regional or organization -specific ones (e.g., DownBeat magazine has its own).

A Roller Coaster Hall of Fame? Hmm . . . that might have its ups and downs. For example, what constitutes a roller coaster? No, I'm not being facetious. Is there a definition of a roller coaster versus another amusement park ride? I like the idea; I just want to know whether I can nominate "Mister Toad's Wild Ride."

Most of the biggest and most important country stars are in the Hall already. And with the likes of Elvis, The Everly Brothers in the Hall, I think Ray definitely belongs in. He should be no lower than top 5 though, I think. The only other artist I can concede the top spot to is Kenny Rogers. With Ronnie Milsap, Dottie West and Gram Parsons rounding out the top 5.

I will come up with the #1-25 list for Survivor and do all the write-ups (along with the write-ups for the eight current inductees). So Chairman, it's all up to you if you'-) like to have it.

Interesting take, rockstar23. I think Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music was such a landmark album it can't be ignored for the mainstream attention it brought to those songs. But should he be placed ahead of Country lifers?
We could have fun with a Roller Coaster Hall of Fame. There are so many possibilitie s without the need of physical buildings.

I had no idea they did a Survivor Hall of Fame....That may not be a bad idea. As for MMA, i think it will be around a long time. It really took over the boxing void, and i do think that is missing here. The Country Hall makes a lot of sense as the next music Hall to do. Sounds like those should be the next three?
