As many of you know, Chipper Jones ended his acclaimed career at the end of the 2012 Major League Baseball season, which essentially marked the countdown to his Cooperstown induction speech. The team that he spent his entire career with, the Atlanta Braves has decided to honor him right away.The Braves have announced that they will induct Chipper Jones into their Hall of Fame and bestow upon him the ultimate accolade of retiring his number 10. As part of the launch of the NBA All Star festivities, The Basketball Hall of Fame has announced the twelve finalists for the Class of 2013. The Finalists include our top three selections, Gary Payton, Bernard King and Spencer Haywood, all of which we hope will be selected. Well it appears that hell has frozen over in Titan Towers. It has been reported that former two time WWWF (now WWE) World Heavyweight Champion Bruno Sammartino has accepted an induction to the WWE Hall of Fame. The ceremony is to be held in Madison Square Gardens, the site of Sammartino’s greatest triumphs and a facility he sold out numerous times.This has to come as a shock as for years, Sammartino has spoken against the WWE (and Vince McMahon in particular) and swore in countless interviews that he would never accept the invite. Buried amidst the hullabaloo of Deer Antler Spray, homophobic comments and a Quarterback who essentially called himself stupid, Donald Driver has announced his retirement. The career long Green Bay Packer spent fourteen seasons in Lambeau, making three Pro Bowl teams and amassing over 10,000 receiving yards.
