Not in Hall of Fame News

As you have noticed, we have added the 2014, 2015 & 2016 Basketball Futures. Well, onward and upward here at notinhalloffame.com and we have now uploaded the 2017 group. This is quite the impressive group and could see multiple entries. They are: Allen Iverson Antonio McDyess Peja Stojakovic Shaquille O’Neal Yao Ming Zydrunas Ilgauskas As always, you know what to do! Check them out and cast your votes and give your opinions.
Minnesota Vikings Punter, Chris Kluwe has never been shy with his opinions. He wrote “Vote Ray Guy” on his jersey patch that commemorates the Hall’s 50th anniversary. Guy, who has been universally labeled as the greatest punter ever never, got into the Hall despite being a semi-finalist multiple times. In fact, there is no football player who was strictly a punter who has been enshrined in Canton. Kluwe called the Hall of Fame a “sham” and added that he would not “support a Hall of Fame that doesn’t have a punter in it”. He went on to say that sysyem…
As you have noticed, we have added the 2014 and 2015 Basketball Futures. Well, onward and upward here at notinhalloffame.com and we have now uploaded the 2016 group. Now granted, this is not a very large one as we only have two players (like 2015) who will be eligible that year for your consideration. They are: Michael Finley Steve Francis As always, you know what to do! Check them out and cast your votes and give your opinions.
It seems every Baseball Hall of Famer has a position on PED users for entry to Cooperstown.  Of course, with this year’s ballot, can we really be surprised? Recently Barry Larkin, who was inducted last year, told the Associated Press that “If you cheated you made a decision” and did not deserve to get in.  He was specifically referring to Sosa, Clemens and Bonds who are on this year’s Hall of Fame ballot and have been directly linked to Performance Enhancing Drugs.  The former Cincinnati Reds star is not alone.  Yesterday, Andre Dawson, who was himself inducted in 2010,…
We would like to congratulate Tom Cheek for entering the Baseball Hall of Fame posthumously for his work as the Toronto Blue Jays play by play announcer on radio. Cheek called the first 4,306 regular season game for Toronto and has the signature call of “Touch em all Joe! You’ll never hit a bigger home run in your life” when Jays’ outfielder, Joe Carter belted the home run that cemented Toronto’s second consecutive World Series in the mid 90’s. Cheek is the winner of the Ford Frick Award for Broadcasting Excellence. This award reminds us how much the Baseball Hall…
As you have noticed, we have added the 2014 Basketball Futures. Well, onward and upward here at notinhalloffame.com and we have now uploaded the 2015 group. Now granted, this is not a very large one as we only have two players who will be eligible that year for your consideration. They are: Dikembe Mutombo Wally Szczerbiak As always, you know what to do! Today the Pre-Integration Committee (from Baseball’s beginnings to 1947) has announced that there will be three new members to the Baseball Hall of Fame. To become elected, the nominees on the ballot, which contained six former players, and four non-players had to receive at least 12 of 16 (75%) votes to enter. Of the three selected, only one was a player. That was Deacon White, a barehanded Catcher in the 1870’s. White twice won the Batting Title and was a three time leader in Runs Batted In. He was ranked #30 on our notinhalloffame baseball list. White will be joined…
Much like we have done with the Hockey and Baseball sections, we have now turned our attention to the world of Basketball. We kick it off with a list of six players who will be eligible for 2014 for the Basketball Hall of Fame. As always, we want your opinions on this group and whether they should ever receive a call for the Hall. They are: Alonzo MourningAnfernee HardawayChris WebberEddie JonesSam CassellShareef Abdur-Rahim Remember, the Basketball Hall recognizes not just what a player does in the professional ranks; the collegiate and international accomplishments factor in too. Gang, you know what…
A survey conducted by the Associated Press of Baseball Writers who have a Hall of Fame vote (and were willing to participate) show Barry Bonds at 45 percent, Roger Clemens at 43 percent and Sammy Sosa at 18 percent. Whether this is what their final tallies is yet to be determined, but the venom of which those who were quoted had against the PED era players has to be noted. Washington Examiner columnist, Thom Loverro does not begrudge the statistical landmarks of the aforementioned three but stated that “three of the six criteria for election to Cooperstown are sportsmanship, integrity…
