Jimmy MacElroy

Jimmy MacElroy
After the surprise success of Napoleon Dynamite, it seemed that the world could not get enough of Jon Heder; that is until we saw more of Jon Heder. Realistically, there isn’t much you can do with him other than effeminate wimpy roles….so enter, Figure Skating. With all due respect to Napoleon Dynamite fans out there, Heder’s Jimmy MacElroy was not exactly the strongest part of this film, and was overshadowed by his co-stars. Still, he performed the dangerous “Iron Lotus” at the end, and was paired with the bookishly cute, Jenna Fischer, so that gets at least a somewhat acceptable score from the German judge.

Jack Chester

JAck Chester
Perhaps this is a bit of a stretch but the final act of John Candy’s (Jack Chester) film, “Summer Rental” saw him sail his way to victory in an old boat while defeating the blowhard who looked suspiciously like Rambo’s only friend. There has to be something memorable about Candy winning the regatta by using his boxers as a sail, and the Chicago Blackhawks jersey he wore on the beach. Still, we prefer the scene where he explains his favorite Smurfs episode, but we here have never been accused of our high level of maturity.

Isis

Isis
Is Isis really a villain? Yes, Gabrielle Union was the opponent of Kirsten Dunst in the cheerleading film, “Bring it on”, but it was her routine that was unwittingly stolen, and though she does not play a sympathetic character in most of the film, many cheered her victory in the end. Again we ask…is cheerleading a sport?

Homer Simpson
We don’t think this is a stretch at all. Any follower of the Simpsons knows that the family patriarch is a big fan of sports. However, Homer has been quite the athletic participant himself. Consider the following sports related performances:

Competing (albeit briefly) with Venus Williams as his partner in a mixed doubles tennis tournament.

Was the Head Coach for Bart’s Peewee Football team.

He boxed Drederick Tatum in his first boxing match after the former champ served jail time.

He represented the U.S.A. in mixed curling at the Winter Olympics.

He bowled a perfect game.

He pinch hit for Darryl Strawberry and drove (ok, was hit by a pitch) in the winning run over Shelbyville’s nuclear team.

He also found his way to watch the Super Bowl in Rupert Murdoch’s private box, went on a hunger strike to keep the Springfield Isotopes from moving to Albuquerque, became the mascot for Capital City, and we are only giving a handful of his sports related examples.

Yes, we know that this is a cartoon, but this is the Fictitious Athlete Hall of Fame after all, and Homer Simpson certainly qualifies. Now can you vote for a cartoon?
