1974 PRELIMINARY RESULTS: Thank you to all who participated in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Revisited Project. If you are still determining what that is, we acted like the PFHOF had its first class in January 1946. We have completed the first 29 years thus far. For “1974,” a Preliminary Vote with close to 100 players whose playing career ended by 1967. We are also following the structure in that players have 20 years of eligibility, and if they do not make it into the Hall, they are relegated to the Senior Pool. Each voter was asked to select…

Yes, we know that this is taking a while! As many of you know, we at Notinhalloffame.com are slowly generating the top 50 of each major North American sports team. That being said, we have existing Top 50 lists and consistently look to update them when necessary and based on necessity. As such, we are delighted to present our post-2024 revision of our top 50 New York Yankees. As for all of our top 50 players in baseball, we look at the following:  1.  Advanced Statistics. 2.  Traditional statistics and how they finished in the National League. 3.  Playoff accomplishments.…
Regular visitors of Notinhalloffame.com know that we are slowly working on the top 50 of every major team in the NHL, NBA, NFL, and MLB. Once that is done, we will examine how each team honors its past players, coaches, and executives. As such, it is important to us that the University of Tennessee’s Athletic Hall of Fame has announced eight new member who comprise the Class of 2025. The inductees are: Eric Berry, Football, 2007-09.  Berry was the first and only two-time Unanimous All-American in Volunteers history, and was the 2009 Jim Thorpe Award winner.  A three-time All-SEC Selection,…

1973 Pro Football Hall of Fame Revisited Project Class. Here we are!  Again!! If you have been following our Pro Football Hall of Fame Revisited Project, you know we have asked the rhetorical question: What if the PFHOF began in January 1946? After soliciting and obtaining a passionate group of football fans and historians, we sent out a ballot for a Preliminary Vote, in which we asked each voter to give us 25 names as their semi-finalists and 5 in the Senior Pool. We then asked the group to vote for their 15 Finalists in the Modern Era and 3…
Hall of Fame season continues as on the eve of NBA All-Star Weekend, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has announced the Finalists for the 2025 Class. The Hall made waves when they recently altered (again) the requirements, moving the eligibility limits to two years from three years. This altered the landscape, as their were no surefire entrant for this year’s class. The Finalists are: 2008 United States Olympic Team (TEA).  Coached by Mike Krzyzewski (with Jim Boeheim, Nate McMillan, and Mike D’Antoni), the United States beat Spain in the finals.  The roster included Carlos Boozer, Jason Kidd, LeBron James,…
On today’s episode of Get Up on ESPN, the Undertaker and his wife and fellow former wrestler Michelle McCool were on hand to promote WWE’s new show, LFG.  WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque surprised the pair on satellite to inform McCool that she would be a member of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025. McCool participated in the 2004 Divas Search, and though she did not win, she was signed by the company.  After showing improvement, McCool became the inaugural Divas Champion, winning that in the 2008 Great American Bash, and a year later, won…
The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has announced the preliminary candidates for the Class of 2025, but before we get to that, a major change took place that has put forth new names that would not have been previously considered. The Hall altered their eligibility wait time for the second time in ten years, as they have reduced the wait time for induction from three years to two.  Previously, they changed it from six to five years to three to two.    Notably, going into 2025, no marquee names were eligible for induction.  This allows Carmelo Anthony and Sue Bird…
