Yes, we know that this is taking a while!

As many of you know, we at Notinhalloffame.com are slowly generating the top 50 of each major North American sports team. That being said, we maintain and update our existing Top 50 lists annually.  We are pleased to present our pre-2026 revision of our top 50 Denver Broncos.

As for all of our top 50 players in football, we look at the following: 

1.  Duration and Impact.

2.  Traditional statistics and how they finished in the National Football League.

3.  Advanced Statistics.

4.  Playoff performance.

5. Their respective legacy on the team.

6. How successful the team was when he was there.

7. Respecting the era in which they played.

Criteria 1-4 will make up the lion’s share of the algorithm.  Please note that we have implemented this for the first time.  This has changed the rankings all throughout the board.

Last year, the Broncos had an outstanding regular season, finishing 14-3, and beating Buffalo in the first round, only to fall to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.  Two players rose, and one new entrant entered the conversation based on the 2025 season.

As always, we present our top five, with no changes occurring.

Cornerback and former MVP Patrick Surtain II rocketed an even dime from #30 to #41.

Offensive Lineman Garrett Bolles makes his debut on the list.  He is ranked at #42.

Wide Receiver Courtland Sutton moved up two spots to #45.

As for all of our top 50 players in football, we look at the following: 

1.  Advanced Statistics.

2.  Traditional statistics and how they finished in the National Football League.

3.  Playoff accomplishments.

4.  Their overall impact on the team and other intangibles that are not reflected in a stat sheet.

Last year, the Broncos overachieved by going 10-7 and making the playoffs, only to lose to Buffalo in the opening round.  There were no fluctuations, but two new entrants to the Top 50.

Reigning Defensive Player of the Year Patrick Surtain II makes his debut on the list at #41.

The second new entrant is Courtland Sutton, who enters at #47.

Drafted in the second round out of Southern Methodist in 2018, Courtland Sutton landed in Denver boasting an ideal alpha receiver frame, a massive catch radius, and physical boundary dominance. Save for a torn ACL that wiped out nearly his entire 2020 campaign, he has consistently operated as the reliable wide receiver anchor for an evolving Broncos offense.

Sutton's breakout arrived in 2019 when he earned his first Pro Bowl selection, hauling in 72 passes for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns while proving he could win against top primary cornerbacks. Through years of quarterback instability in Mile High, his ability to win 50/50 contested balls remained a constant offensive lifeline. He hit another gear in 2023, showcasing lethal red-zone efficiency by catching a career-high 10 touchdown passes.

His role as the primary passing engine truly crystallized alongside young quarterback Bo Nix. In 2024, Sutton recorded his second career four-digit campaign, racking up 1,081 receiving yards and eight touchdowns to lead Denver back into the postseason. He kept that standard going in 2025, stringing together his second consecutive 1,000-yard year with 74 receptions for 1,017 yards and seven touchdowns while capturing his second career Pro Bowl nod.

His clutch perimeter play down the stretch helped power the Broncos to an AFC West title and an AFC Championship Game appearance. Entering his ninth NFL season in 2026, Sutton should continue to make a run on the franchise’s all-time receiving leaderboards.
