The next entrant to the 2011 WWE Hall of Fame Class has been announced and it is "Bullet" Bob Armstrong. The "Bullet" may not be known to a lot of newer wrestling fans, but he was a long time star in the American South throughout the 70's and early 80's, and is the father of attitude era star, the Road Dogg. We had ranked Armstrong #131 on our list, and though he did get inducted, it is a rank we still agree with. We here at Notinhalloffame mourn the loss of Baseball Hall of Famer, Duke Snider who passed away today. Snider was one of the All Time great Dodgers, and he entered the Hall of Fame in 1980. The former eight time All Star, and constant MVP threat in the 1950's blted 407 Home Runs in his illustrious career. "The Duke of Flatbush" had his number #4 retired by the Dodgers in 1980. It was a well deserved honor.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan has been announced as the second selection to the WWE Hall of Fame. The Glens Falls native was recently an active competitor in the WWE and has been on very good terms with Stamford for the past few years. Duggan was the first ever winner of the Royal Rumble and one of the top baby faces for the Fed for years. We had Hacksaw ranked at #59 and congratulate him on his most recent accomplishment!

We guess this is the season where All Stars are retiring. Jim Edmonds, who on four occasions was a Major League All Star announced that he is calling it a career after seventeen campaigns in the bigs. His announcement has not made a lot of people think of Cooperstown, and the odds are strong that he is a "one and done" when eligible, but is it possible that a case could made? Gary Sheffield has officially retired and has made his case for the Baseball Hall of Fame. Twenty years ago, a baseball star with over 500 Home Runs would be an automatic lock for the Hall of Fame. Well....Just when it seemed we had an interesting thought about Peter Forsberg; he up and retires on us. The Swedish Superstar's comeback lasted only two games and thirty-five minutes on the ice, yet he deemed his past injuries to render him ready for a permanent trip to the golf course. Forsberg did not hit the 1,000 point mark but his International play makes him a serious HOF contender in our eyes. Peter Forsberg returned to National Hockey League on Friday Night to the Colorado Avalanche after spending two seasons with Modo in the Swedish League. Forsberg was a favorite of ours, and we are happy to see him back in the NHL, but it got us thinking.... What of the other stars still competing in Europe, like Jaormir Jagr and Dominik Hasek? Well gang, the Hall of Fame Class of 2011 was announced and with a group this loaded it is hard to say there were any surprises or snubs. Our top two ranked football players, #1 Marshall Faulk & #2 Deion Sanders were inducted on their first year of eligibility. Our #4 candidate, Shannon Sharpe was also selected making us wonder who will have the most colorful speech; Sanders or Sharpe. Does 240 Wins make a Hall of Fame Career? Probably not, but there should be little doubt that Pettitte carved himself a nice career and is retiring with some fairly nice statistics. His 240 wins is paired with only 138 losses leaving him a .638 win percentage, which is 9th overall in Major League History. Pettitte also retires as the games's all time win leader in the Post Season, of which he netted five World Series Rings. The three time All Star, also whiffed 2,251 career batters.
