Steve Harwell, the lead singer of Smash Mouth passed away at the age of 56 following liver failure. He had been battling alcoholism for years, and it took his life yesterday. Using elements of pop, punk, ska and alternative rock, Smash Mouth first hit it big in 1997, with their hit, “Walkin’ on the Sun” that topped the U.S. Alt-Rock Chart.
