Cher

Our next artist may have the longest career on this list but would mot surprise us if she generated the least amount of respect. Of course, it seems like Cher has been fighting for respect her entire career.

Before Madonna was the icon of style attempting to conquer as many mediums as she could, there was Cher. Originally, the protégé of Sonny Bono and one half of Sonny and Cher, she eventually found more success as a solo performer and is the only person to have chart success over five decades. Her style and look was always transforming and it seemed that every five years she found herself back on top somehow. She may not have the Rock credibility in some eyes, but she may have the best rock voice. At one time in her life, she was on top in music, television and film. Nobody else on this list can say that. It is completely impossible for her to conquer the Hall too?
