Not in Hall of Fame News

Bon Jovi is one of the most successful rock bands of all time, there is no denying that.  Around since the early 1980’s, this is a band that can still sell out an arena tour so you would think they would have garnered more attention from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Apart from a lone nomination in 2011, there have been no signs that they have been considered since.  As you might expect, this might stick in the craw of the bands leader, Jon Bon Jovi.  In an interview today with Howard Stern, he indicated just that. When asked…
Isn’t always the way that when a band gets inducted (or in this case, nominated) that there is discussion as to which member of the band should get in? That is what is going on a former drummer, Dave Abbruzzese ranted on his official Facebook page about his exclusion from a potential Pearl Jam induction: “…just a fine opportunity to see what [the group] has to say in response. Let's see if they do the right thing. It'll be interesting to see the spin that is put on it. That band and its management have never been ones to shy…
It did not receive a lot of fanfare, but a former Rushing Champion has announced his immediate retirement from the National Football League. Miami Dolphins Running Back, Arian Foster, retired via Uninterrupted (on Twitter) that he will be walking away from the game.  This is not exactly a huge shock as a torn Achilles tendon last October.  Following that, he was released from the Houston Texans and was used sparingly with the Miami Dolphins where he only rushed for 55 Yards on 22 Carries. While Foster went out with a whimper, his sophomore season established him as the top Running…
Last week the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their Finalists for the Class of 2016. As such our Fictitious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is doing the same thing. The Fictitious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was designed to celebrate the bands that not exactly real.  While some have gone on actual tour, the origin behind the musician is fictional. Last year in the first full class inducted, The Blues Brothers, Spinal Tap and The Monkees were chosen as the result of a year long online poll.  We have now reached the final fifteen finalists for…
There has been a lot of speculation that the return of Bill Goldberg will culminate in him headlining the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017. As WWE fans know, Goldberg returned to the WWE after a twelve year absence and will be facing the last man he wrestled, Brock Lesnar. Fans may remember that their contest at Wrestlemania XX was far from a classic.  Goldberg’s contract was set to expire and he had made it clear that he would not be resigning.  It had also leaked that Lesnar would be leaving to try a career in the NFL and…

The World Wrestling Entertainment has rolled the dice outside the industry many times in the past. Some, like the XFL, flopped miserably but made significant innovations still used today in most American football coverage. Others, such as the WWE Comics, which will soon hit the stands in November, according to IGN, are promising – not to mention fitting for their brand. In hindsight, the former seem like a bad idea, hence the failed result, considering that one is a sports entertainment brand and the other is a legitimate and established professional game. On the other hand, the professional wrestling company’s…
It’s that time again! The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled their 2019 Nominees, which has been bumped up to 19 from the traditional 15 that they usually put forth. As per years previous, we see some familiar nominations, some new faces and a very diverse group of musicians. The nominees are as follows: Pearl Jam:  Ranked #1 on Notinhalloffame.com.   No shock here, as everyone projected that this very influential band would be nominated on their first year of eligibility.  This might be as close to a lock as it gets in terms of induction. Kraftwerk:  Ranked #2…
The Poker Hall of Fame have announced that Todd Brunson and Carlos Mortensen will comprise the Class of 2016. If the last name of Brunson sounds familiar, you would be correct as Todd Brunson is the son of legendary player Doyle Brunson, thus marking the first time that a father and son entered the Poker Hall of Fame.  Todd Brunson actually did not learn the game from his famous father, won a bracelet at the 2005 World Series of Poker and has over $4 Million in winnings. The induction of Carlos Mortensen gives the Hall an International flavor.  Of part…
Bret Hart has never been shy to let his opinions be heard and he had some interesting things to say regarding the WWE Hall of Fame. Of course, that is news to us! In an interview with House Money Studios, Bret Hart, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006 cited that he was “embarrassed that there’s so many great wrestlers out there that have never been given their credit”.  He cited specifically Rick Rude, Demolition, The Rougeau Brothers and most specifically his younger brother, Owen Hart, who died in the ring in 1999. Bret is actually…
