While women have been entering the Hockey Hall of Fame, we haven’t yet elected to rank them. Maybe we will one day (we don’t rank coaches or executives), but we did make an exception for Don Cherry. If we were to ever make an exception for a female player, that person would be Hayley Wickenheiser, who quietly required today following a post on Twitter. As we (slowly) continue our way to the Top 50 of each franchise, the next step will be to look at how each team celebrates their former players/executives. As such it is news to us that the Orlando Magic has announced that former star, Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway will become the fifth member of their organization’s Hall of Fame. Our process is slowly continuing as we have another Top 50 to present in our look at the best players for every major sports team. The random process continues as we now look at one of the newer teams in the National Hockey League, The Florida Panthers. It has felt that for years that existing Baseball Hall of Famers have been constantly stating that PED users have no place in Cooperstown. January is all about the Hall of Fame isn’t it? The College Football Hall of Fame has announced thirteen new entries for the Class of 2017 comprising of three Head Coaches and ten former players. It has been leaked and reported by multiple sources that Diamond Dallas Page will be entering the WWE Hall of Fame this Wrestlemania weekend. It is a very sad day for Hockey and the Boston Bruins specifically. Milt Schmidt passed away today at the age of 98. Joining the Boston Bruins in the 1936-37 season, Schmidt would soon center the “Kraut Line”, with his fellow junior teammates, Woody Dumart and Bobby Bauer. This would become one of the most explosive lines in the game, and would lead the Bruins to Stanley Cup wins in 1939 and 1941. Over interactions with fans over Twitter, Megadeth’s front man Dave Mustaine stated that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are “opposed” to him being a member. When asked by a fan whether it was “past time” for Megadeth to enter the Rock Hall, Mustaine responded as such: “I think that the @rockhall is opposed to me being in there.
