It is a massive day for us at Notinhalloffame.com, as “Hall of Fame Season” continues with the announcement of five Finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Ralph Hay (contributor), Mike Holmgren (coach), Maxie Baughan (senior), Sterling Sharpe (senior), and Jim Tyrer (senior) are moving forward in the selection process. This year, the PFHOF has undergone a new rule where all the Coach/Contributors/Seniors will compete against each other.  The Committee will vote for three of the five, with all candidates receiving 80% automatically gaining induction.  Should none of the names fail to make 80%, the candidate with the highest…
1970 PRELIMINARY RESULTS: Thank you to all who participated in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Revisited Project. If you are still determining what that is, we acted like the PFHOF had its first class in January 1946. We have completed the first 24 years thus far. For “1970,” a Preliminary Vote with close to 100 players whose playing career ended by 1964. We are also following the structure in that players have 20 years of eligibility, and if they do not make it into the Hall, they are relegated to the Senior Pool. Each voter was asked to select…
The Canadian Music Hall of Fame has announced that Sum 41 will be inducted into its institution at next year’s Juno Awards, which will take place on March 30, 2025. From Ajax, Ontario, Sum 41 was formed in 1997 with Deryck Whibley as their frontman.  The punk-influenced rock band hit it big in the early 2000s with hits such as “Fat Lip.” “In Too Deep” and “Motivation”.  Winning multiple Juno Awards, the band announced they would break up following their current tour. Today, the Baseball Hall of Fame has announced the 2025 Ballot, which will be sent to the Baseball Writers of America.  Each committee member will send back their ballot, which can contain up to ten names from a 29-player list.  This includes 14 returning names and 15 new candidates. The Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced the nominees for the Class of 2025.  The nominating committee has until December 22 to submit their ballots, including up to three nominees in both the Non-Performing Songwriters and Performing Songwriters. The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame has announced seven new members of their institution, who will comprise the Class of 2025. Players Sue Bird, Sylvia Fowles, Cappie Poindexter, and Alana Beard will be joined by coaches Lucille Kyvallos, Mark Campbell, and executive Danielle Donehew. The Woman’s Basketball Hall of Fame was founded in 1999, and the Class of 2025 will be formally inducted on June 14 at the Knoxville Theater in Knoxville, Tennessee.
