Not in Hall of Fame News

The process continues. We here are Notinhalloffame.com have plans to create our own set of post-season awards, which we will look back and retroactively present from 1901 on.  That will take a while, but it has never stopped us before! Our awards are not be league specific. The first award that we will be giving out is the most important, the MVP, and who else could it be?  It is Los Angeles Angels, Pitcher and Designated Hitter, Shohei Ohtani, who was also the winner of the inaugural NIHOF Baseball Cup. Not since Babe Ruth, have we ever seen a dominant hitter who…
Yes, we know that this is taking a while! As many of you know, we here at Notinhalloffame.com are slowly generating the 50 of each major North American sports team.  That being said, we have existing Top 50 lists out and we always consistently look to update them when we can and based on necessity.  As such, we are very happy to present our pre-2021-22 revision of our top 50 Anaheim Ducks. As for all of our top 50 players in hockey we look at the following:  1.  Advanced Statistics. 2.  Traditional statistics and how they finished in the NHL.  3.  Playoff accomplishments. 4.  Their overall…
Our goal at Notinhalloffame.com has always been to expand, and we are now in the “business” of post season awards.   That’s right sports agents!  Work this into your client’s contracts! Here we are unveiling the first ever MLB Cup, awarded to the player who achieved the most Points in a year. Confused, aren’t you? It is very simple what we did. In every MLB game in the 2021 season, we borrowed from the Three Stars that the NHL does after every game.  Three Points were given to the best player of the game, two for the second and one for the third.  It…
This retirement should get a lot more press than it is. Pau Gasol, the greatest basketball player from Spain, and a member of the Mount Rushmore of European Basketball has announced his retirement from the game. Debuting in the NBA for the Memphis Grizzlies in 2001, the 7’ 1” Center, becoming the first European to win the Rookie of the Year.  An All-Star for Memphis in 2006, Gasol never had a year where his PPG was lower than 17, his RPG were lower than 7, and his Blocks were lower than 1.5 per Game.  Gasol was low-key one of the more complete…

When we first launched Notinhalloffame.com over a decade ago, it was always an intention of ours to eventually look at those who should be considered for the Country Music Hall of Fame.  Thanks to Aaron Freeman, we now have that section! Aaron provided to us the top 25 in both Modern and Veteran categories, and we are positive that when you click through those who have not yet been inducted, you will be amazed by the legendary names who have yet to enter these hallowed halls. We invite you to take a look at these new sections, and we welcome your input.
LeSean McCoy, who played twelve years in the NFL, signed a one-day contract with his original NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles, and is now retired from professional football. From the University of Pittsburgh, McCoy was phenomenal with the Panthers, winning the Big East Offensive Player of the Year (2008) and parlaying that into a Second Round Pick to the same-state Philadelphia Eagles in 2009. McCoy played his first six years with the Eagles, four of which would see the Running Back exceed the four-digit mark in Rushing Yards.  The “scat back” led the NFL in Rushing Touchdowns (17) in 2011, and…
Regular visitors of Notinhalloffame.com know that we are slowly working on the top 50 of every major team in the NHL, NBA, NFL and MLB.  Once that is done, we intend to look at how each team honor their past players, coaches and executives.  As such, it is news to us that the New York Rangers have announced that they will be retiring the number 30 of Henrik Lundqvist. Lundqvist played his entire 15-year career with the Rangers, beginning in 2005-06.  He won the Vezina Trophy in 2012, and he finished in the top six in Vezina balloting nine other times.  Twice leading the…
If you have heard our weekly Podcast, the Buck Stops Here: Hall of Fame Show, you know that we have discussed (surprisingly) Women’s Tennis a lot, mostly the issues that Naomi Osaka has been going through.  With Osaka’ issues, and an aging Serena Williams, 18-year-old Emma Raducanu came out of nowhere to win the U.S. Open, and a star was born. The British sensation not only won her first Grand Slam, but became a media darling and instant fan-favorite.  The International Tennis Hall of Fame has taken notice, and Radacanu’s U.S. Open game-worn outfit will now be displayed at their institution. Here’s hoping…
