Sam Bennett was a trade deadline deal from Calgary in 2021, and it was a great fit for the veteran Center who finished the year with 15 Points in 10 Games.
Since then, Bennett has played his best hockey, putting forth three consecutive 40-plus Point years with a physical style that the Panthers needed, which proved fruitful when they won the their first Stanley Cup in 2024. He won’t crack the top ten of this franchise, but he has already proved his worth in the state of Florida.
Matt Duchesne signed with Nashville in 2019 following ten seasons with Colorado, Ottawa and Columbus.
Bringing a veteran presence at Center spent four seasons with the Predators, peaking with a career-best in Goals (43), Points (86) and Shots (229). Duchene scored 56 Points in 2022/23, his last in a Predators uniform as he signed with Dallas the year after.
Duchene had 197 Points in 249 Games as a Predator.
A solid player at Michigan Tech, Matt Roy was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the Seventh Round in 2015, and would join the organization to years later. After another two years, Roy was called up to the parent club and has provided solid defense ever since.
Roy is a traditional stay-at-home blueliner who rarely makes mistakes. Offensively, he is able to contribute, and has produced at least 20 Points the last three years, but he is at his best when he stays in his own end. Roy will never be a superstar, but every team needs a player like him.
