Our work on the existing Hockey Hall of Fame Classes continue. We have now made our way to the year of 1972. This comprised an amazing triumvirate of superstars in Gordie Howe, Jean Beliveau and Bernie Geoffrion. Seriously, does it get much better than that? The complete Class of 1972 was:

Kenny Rogers to the Country Music HOF

Although we do not (though we may plan to add it in the future) a Notinhalloffame.com list on those who are not in the Country Music Hall of Fame, we would like to extend congratulations to Kenny Rogers who has been selected to join the prestigious Hall. Rogers was a major star in the Country-Pop genre in the late 70’s and 1980’s and achieved high levels of popularity.
Rogers is joined by Bobby Bare, a member of the “Outlaw” Country Movement and “Cowboy” Jack Clement who was an early producer of the genre at Sun Records.
We would like to congratulate these three for this accolade.

Spencer Haywood snubbed

So much for that leak that Spencer Haywood was going into Basketball Hall of Fame. Haywood claimed that he was told by “someone in the NBA” that he was HOF bound; though that information appeared to be erroneous. Based on that information, media outlets (including us) reported that Haywood would be in. Unfortunately, the joke is not on us, but on Haywood who was clearly crushed by the confusion.
The four time All Star found out on Friday that he was not in, though reports had already began to sprout that he was selected. “This is so embarrassing” stated Haywood. “My stomach has been so bad I can’t eat, I can’t sleep. This isn’t a punch in the stomach. It’s below the stomach.”
We feel terrible for Haywood, who we had ranked at #3 on our Notinhalloffame.com list of those who should be selected for the Basketball Hall of Fame. The two ranked above him, Gary Payton and Bernard King were both selected this year.
