Sorry, we are a bit of a disadvantage here. We have never seen Camp Rock, nor do really intend to. What we know is that this was a monster hit for the Disney Channel and it happened at a time when the Jonas Brothers were never hotter. Is this a Fictitious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee? If any Boy Band has a shot: why not a top one with a successful pair of TV Movies?

The Bullet Points:
TV Movies Appeared:
Camp Rock (2008)
Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010)

Actors:
The Jonas Brothers (Shane, Jason & Nate Gray)

Songs you might remember:
We Rock

Why you should vote for them:
Say what you want, but this was successful.

Why you should not vote for them:
Being a Boy Band does not help them here

The Commitments

Commitments The
The Commitments was the BAFTA Award winner for the Film of the Year in 1991 and has been called by many critics and fans to be the greatest film of all time from Ireland. The story is a simple one, with a unique concept; a Dubliner sets out to put together the best Soul band and manage them to greatness, though this group turns out to be an all white outfit. It is a clash of egos, a clash of cultures and overall a great film with excellent music. Should we obtain a serious audience from the Eastern side of the Atlantic, this could be a shoe in. If we don’t, the Commitments won’t get very far here.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
The Commitments (1991)

Actors:
Andrew Strong (Declan “Deco” Cuffe, Lead Singer)
Maria Doyle (Natalie Murphy, Backup Singer)
Bronagh Gallagher (Bernie McGloughlin, Backup Singer)
Angeline Ball (Imelda Quirke, Backup Singer)
Glen Hansard (Outspan Foster, Guitar)
Kenneth McCluskey (Derek “Meatman” Scully, Bass)
Johnny Murphy (Joey “The Lips” Fagan, Trumpet)
Felim Gormley (Dean Fay, Sax)
Michael Ahearne (Steven Clifford, Piano)
Dave Finnegan (Mickah Wallace, Drums)

Songs you might remember:
Multiple Soul Covers

Why you should vote for them:
They were good, and so was the film.

Why you should not vote for them:
They never made it big in North America.

Cody's Band (Roadhouse)

Codys Band Road House
You have to forgive us as for a movie we have seen countless times, we have no idea what the name of the band was (or if there was one) in the ultimate guilty pleasure film, Road House. Let’s focus on what we do know: The band was played by a Canadian Blues Rock trio called the Jeff Healey Band, who did very well in Canada in the late 80’s and early 90’s. They sounded right for the part, and Healey was able to gain what we believe was his only acting role showing what he could do as a “blind white guy”. Now what the hell was the name of this band? Seriously, we want to know the name of the band!

The Clash at Demonhead

Clash at Demonhead The
The very successful rival band of Scott Pilgrim was made up of one of his ex girlfriends and a telekinetic bassist who was dating that aforementioned ex. Rather than go into the convoluted plot, let’s just say that the band’s music was provided by the very talented band, Metric, which is more than enough to make them a serious contender for this Hall of Fame.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010)

Actors:
Brie Larson (Envy Adams, Lead Singer)
Brandon Routh (Todd Ingram, Bass)
Tennessee Thomas (Lynette Lycott, Drums)

Songs you might remember:
Black Sheep

Why you should vote for them:
Musically, they are strong.

Why you should not vote for them:
Shouldn’t the top band of the film get the vote first?
