The Chesterfields

Chesterfields The
From the tribute film to the spirit of Rock and Roll, American Hot Wax, we have the Chesterfields who were a fictionalized version of Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers. The film’s rock stars were half people who played themselves and half made up bands, which may make these fictional entries from the film muddled at best, and long shots for entry.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
American Hot Wax (1978)

Actors:
Carl Earl Weaver
Al Chalk
Sam Harkness
Arnold McCuller

Songs you might remember:
Why Do Fools Fall in Love?

Why you should vote for them:
This is from a film that celebrated Rock and Roll.

Why you should not vote for them:
Basically, they pretended they were someone else.

Cherry Bomb

Cherry Bomb
A prom night dumpster baby of a film, “Howard the Duck” gave us the Runaways inspired “Cherry Bomb”. Granted, it was a mess, as was the film, but we admit we have a thing for late 80’s Lea Thompson. Are we the only ones? Nah, couldn’t be.

Chemical Toilet

Chemical Toilet
How many people listened to a song and determined that it took no talent to become successful and wanted to form a band despite having an obvious lack of talent? Come to think of it, we feel the same every time we heard Blink 182.

This was the source of an episode in the respected FX Comedy, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, where the “Gang” forms a band called “Chemical Toilet”. Near as we can tell, they had one sloppy gig at Paddy’s Pub and broke up shortly after.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2008)

Actors:
Rob McElhenney (Mac, Guitar)
Danny DeVito (Frank, Drummer)
Charlie Day (Charlie, Vocals & Keyboards)
Glenn Howerton (Dennis, Vocals)

Songs you might remember:
The Nightman

Why you should vote for them:
Probably because most of us sound like they do.

Why you should not vote for them:
The band was really bad.

The Cheetah Girls

Cheetah Girls The
You have to hand it to Disney, who created fabricated act after fabricated act. The one in question here is the Cheetah Girls, headlined by Raven Symone, which generated a series of Disney TV Movies. Was it good? Not really, but it did generate a lot of viewers, sales of their products and was a success in general. That in itself places it stories ahead of many of the others on the ballot.

The Bullet Points:
Movies Appeared:
The Cheetah Girls (2003)
The Cheetah Girls 2 (2006)
The Cheetah Girls 3 (2008)

Actors:
Raven Symone (Galleria “Bubbles” Garibaldi)
Adrienne Ballon (Chanel “Chuchie” Simmons)
Sabrina Bryan (Dorinda “Do” Thomas)
Kiely Williams (Aquanette “Aqua” Walker)

Songs you might remember:
Nothing really

Why you should vote for them:
They were successful on television. That should mean something.

Why you should not vote for them:
For a group with three TV Movies, they really did not have any signature songs.
