Figrin Dan and the Modal Nodes
We assume that this was the regular band at the Mos Eisley Cantina, and we are also going to assume that they knew more than the two songs that we heard. We also have to question the ethics of a band that seemed to have little concern when a green creature is killed in the establishment they are playing in. We can say this; most people reading this may not know their name, but they can hum their song…even if they don’t know what it is called.

The Bullet Points:
Movies Appeared:
Star Wars (1977)

Actors:
A bunch of guys in body suits.

Fictional Band Members:
Figrin D’an
Ickabel G’ont
Lirin Car’n
Nalan Cheel
Tech Mo’r
Tedn Dahai
Doikk Na’ts

Songs you might remember:
You definitely remember it…not that we know if it had a name on it.

Why you should vote for them:
The odds are that if you are reading this article, you probably have the song from the cantina in your head.

Why you should not vote for them:
This is a space band…do they really belong in the Hall of Fame?

The Fighting Temptations

Fighting Temptations The
A film in the canon of Cuba Gooding Jr.’s downfall, The Fighting Temptations, is about a church choir group’s trials and tribulations. The reviews on this film were not good (justifiably) but we did like Beyonce in one of her early roles that showed a lot of what she could do. With that said, how many people even remember this film existed, and is a church choir really Fictitious Athlete Hall of Fame worthy?

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
The Fighting Temptations (2003)

Actors:
Cuba Gooding Jr. (Darrin Hill)
Beyonce Knowles (Lilly)
Others we don’t care about

Songs you might remember:
Fighting Temptation

Why you should vote for them:
Beyonce did well here.

Why you should not vote for them:
This movie stunk, and as mentioned this is church choir. Does it even qualify?

Fats Millard and the Bluegrass Fireball
From the underappreciated concept album (The Turtles present the Battle of the Bands) by the Turtles we have an album where different “bands” appeared. This allowed the group to not only stretch their skills musically, as each “band” had a completely different sound and also showcase their humor.

The Turtles exploration of the Bluegrass genre may have confused the young kids who purchased this album hoping for variations of Happy Together. Of course, if that were what they were hoping for, they would have long been confused by the second track. We will say that their very brief foray into the Bluegrass sound made us curious to see what they would have done if they wanted to make a complete record of it.

The Bullet Points:
Album Appeared:
The Turtles present the Battle of the Bands (1968)

Actors/Performers:
The Turtles

Songs you might remember:
Chicken Little Was Right

Why you should vote for them:
Listening to this song was such a departure from their signature song; Happy Together that you can’t help but be impressed.

Why you should not vote for them:
We aren’t sure ourselves if the Turtles billing themselves under another name for one song only should even count.

Fat, Horny, Black and Joe

Fat Black Horny and Joe
We never saw them play, as right before they were about to go on at their first gig at a prison they realized they knew no songs. Still, we were treated to their karaoke version of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” and the funniest mismatched outfits this side of Quahog.
