Whether you speak of the Bobby Eaton/Dennis Condrey version or the Bobby Eaton/Stan Lane combination, the Midnight Express was not just any ordinary tag team. The Midnights were one of the first tag teams to wrestle as a cohesive unit and not just as two individuals. They developed fluid double team moves many of which are still used by tag teams today. When Dennis Condrey left Jim Crockett Promotions, Stan Lane (Previously of The Fabulous Ones team with Steve Keirn) was brought in and the unit did not miss a beat. The Midnight Express were not the biggest team, but just large enough to be credible opponents for the likes of the Road Warriors and fast enough to keep up with the Rock and Roll Express. Considering that none of the three mentioned wrestlers ever competed in the WWE, and they will receive the occasional mention on WWE programming shows just what kind of respect this team had within the industry.
