Sooner or later, a BritPop band will find a representative in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  While there have been some very important groups that debuted before Oasis the odds are strong that this is the band that will go in first.

Drawing multiple comparisons to the Beatles, Oasis was the leading band in terms of BritPop success.  What will work in their favor, as that they were able to conquer American charts as well as the British ones, and as much as that should not be the deciding factor, the reality is that a non-American act has to conquer the U.S. market to get into the Hall.  It also does not hurt that the brothers Gallagher were critical darlings everywhere and there are now many acts that site them as an influence.

Oasis has the resume to get inducted and they could accomplish that within a few years of their eligibility year.

The Bullet Points

  • Country of Origin: United Kingdom (Manchester, England)

First ballot. Of the last 20 years only Radiohead and Nirvana have been as good.
