Not in Hall of Fame News

This feels a bit like deja-vu. Only a few days ago, co-winner of the NBA Rookie of the 1995 Rookie of the Year, Grant Hill announced his retirement. His co-winner, Jason Kidd has just done the same.Like Hill, we believe that a strong case can be made for the Point Guard to be an early entrant to the Basketball Hall of Fame. His on the court legacy can be summed up by turning around weak teams and making them better. Despite that reputation, he only had one NBA Championship, that being in Dallas two seasons ago, where he was still…
Last night, at their annual Pay Per View, Slammiversary, TNA Wrestling announced their second inductee to their Hall of Fame. That man was Kurt Angle, who was a multi-time champion in TNA as well as the WWE where he achieved his biggest mainstream success. Angle was a natural in the ring, transitioning effortlessly from the amateur ranks where he was the 1996 Olympic Gold Medallist, and is currently an outspoken advocate of saving the sport from being eliminated from the Olympics altogether. The TNA Hall of Fame is not exactly a controversial establishment, but with only eleven years of history…
As you may have heard, Grant Hill has announced his retirement from professional Basketball at the age of 40. It is a funny statement to make, that injuries prevented him from having the career we thought he should have had, but Hill was able to play until the age of 40, which is a statement only a handful of players can make. With all of this being said, does Grant Hill have the makings of a Hall of Fame calibre player? We would say that he does.First off the Basketball Hall of Fame encompasses the International and Collegiate accomplishments of…

We make no claim to understand the criteria or the process for getting into the UFC Hall of Fame. Best we can tell, the decision is an arbitrary one made by the President of UFC, Dana White. As it is a relatively new sport, the Hall of Fame understandably has only a few members, all of which are relatively young and only out of the sport for a short time. As such, when the UFC announces that it will induct new fighters, they are usually fresh out of the sport, as is the case with the two new inductees announced…

Well, it’s that time again where we here at Notinhalloffame.com have updated our WWE List. In a very short period of time, the WWE has made their Hall of Fame a hot commodity, and wrestling fans are in constant debate as to who should be the next to join. Considering that there is no actual Hall of Fame facility, this accomplishment is especially impressive. As WWE fans know, “Hell froze over” with the shocking induction of Bruno Sammartino. The “Living Legend” was a long-time critic of the organization and its owner, Vince McMahon in particular. On our inaugural list, two years…
It was expected by many but made official today. Brian Urlacher, who spent his thirteen seasons in the National Football League as the face of their franchise and star Linebacker for the Chicago Bears called it a career today after testing free agency this past off season when his contract was not resigned. Urlacher believed that he could have kept playing in the NFL (and he probably could) but stated that he “didn't want to put another jersey on for any other team. Obviously, it wasn't going to be for the Bears this year, so I thought it was the…
The NASCAR Hall of Fame has officially announced their selections for this year’s class. We are proud to say that fearless prognosticator, Spheniscus, has done it again and his top pick was selected to the Hall. That man was Tim Flock, who took the number one spot based on his outstanding run in the 1950’s. Although, he was ranked #1 by us, the #3 selection, Dale Jarrett, is considered to be the headliner of this group. Dale is the 1999 Winston Cup Series Champion and has 32 wins, three of which were the Daytona 500. Our #6 selection, Fireball Roberts also…
Damn!   We have not even gotten our revisions done to the WWE list, and it looks like the WWE have already decided some of the entries for the 2014 Class. It has been reported that William Moody (Paul Bearer) will be a 2014 WWE Hall of Fame inductee. This has not been reported on WWE.COM or on their programming, but there is no reason to think that this in inaccurate. It is also been suggested that the Undertaker will be joining Bearer, though again that was not confirmed by the WWE directly. With the Undertaker, it can be assumed that he…
