Calexico

With a name like “Calexico”, you would expect to hear a Tex Man/Alternative Country Sound, and damned if that is not what you get! The band may be one of the best mosaics of the American Southwest in a long time, but without a major hit and without Alt Country pioneers in the Hall of Fame, there is little reason to suggest that this critical darling will get in.

Beta Band

A darling of the respected BritPop bands, Scotland’s Beta Band was fairly far from being one themselves. Dubbed “folktronica” due to their ability to merge Folk with Electronic elements, it is a safe assumption to state that the Beta Band had no real equal during their time. With that said, their uniqueness has yet to be proven as influential; which it what the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has always stated they wanted in their inductees.

Badly Drawn Boy

Adopting the stage name of Badly Drawn Boy, Damon Gough pushed Adult Alternative to the Experimental edge without becoming completely inaccessible. Critically loved and panned at the same time, Bad Drawn Boy has been a popular Indie staple in England for a decade, but is this even close to a Hall of Fame equation?

98 Degrees

Boy Bands are not exactly Rock and Roll Hall of Fame material (or really any Hall of Fame). With that said, if any Boy Band ever gets into Cleveland (and we will shut down our site if it happens), it will have to be one that was a lot more successful than 98 Degrees.
