Nightwish

Nightwish may not have been the best Symphonic Metal band but they may make a claim as one of the best. Their music had an eerie beauty to it, and listening to their music you feel like you are listening to a symphony; despite the electric guitars. With that said, the band may have had multiple number ones in Finland but without even a top 100 in the States, they are largely anonymous in North America.

New Found Glory

One of the best pure blends of Pop and Punk going, New Found Glory may not have had the highest level of commercial success, but of the newer wave of Punk influenced bands, they were among the most melodic. Odds are that this will not equate into a Hall of Fame induction but it will be an overall solid career, which is better than most bands ever get.

Neko Case

Just where does being an Indie Legend get you? A cult status and acclaimed records but a Hall of Fame induction seems so out of left field. For Neko Case, we could make a case for her to be in an Indie Rock Hall of Fame already at this stage, but the main Hall of Fame is not exactly something that an Indie darling is going to aspire to enter.

Marcy Playground

With a successful hit, “Sex and Candy”, Marcy Playground vaulted in the musical consciousness of the world in 1997. Unfortunately for the band, that was about all they did and unless something drastically changes in the next ten years, we can’t imagine there is any chance for this one hit wonder to enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
