As been long expected it has been officially announced that the Dudley Boys (Bubba Ray & D-Von) will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Originally forming in ECW as a collective of “half-brothers from Dudleyville”, Bubba Ray and D-Von were breakout heels and would become the dominant tag team in the Philadelphia based promotion. In 1999, the WWE came calling and unlike previous ECW stalwarts, Public Enemy, the Dudleys got over in the WWE and they became major tag team stars.

The Dudleys would participate in the famed TLC Match at Wrestlemania 2000 and would become nine time Tag Team Champions there both as heels and faces and would participate in multiple main events. The duo would be released in 2005 and for a decade they would compete in various promotions, such as New Japan and TNA, and though they were not permitted to go by the Dudleys, they were still an over tandem regardless of wherever they were.

They returned last year in a part nostalgia/enhancement role for a one year period.

We did not have them ranked as they were active in the WWE last year and were both under 46 (though Bubba Ray is now 46), which is the age that we considered mandatory to rank a wrestler regardless of their activity. The Dudleys were in our Futures section and will be removed when we do our overhaul in the spring.

We here at Notinhalloffame.com would like to congratulate the Dudleys for earning this accolade.

Tony Gonzalez will be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019 and our guess (and isn’t it everyone’s?) that the former 14 time Pro Bowl Tight End will enter in his first try. While he is waiting for that accolade he has one Hall to enter first: the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame.

Gonzalez (who also played basketball) was drafted out of UCLA 13th overall in 1997 and in his third season he would make his first of 10 Pro Bowls and first of five First Team All Pro nods. Gonzalez had four campaigns that exceeded 1,000 Yards (unheard of for a Tight End) and actually led the NFL in Receptions in 2004. In his 12 years with Kansas City, he tallied a whopping 10,940 Yards with 76 Touchdowns.

He will be honored at an Award banquet on February 24 and will be officially enshrined at Alumni Weekend this fall.

Gonzalez becomes the 44th player (and 48th member overall) to enter the Chiefs Hall of Fame.

Vladimir Guerrero has announced in a news conference that he will be entering the Baseball Hall of Fame as an Angel making him the first to enter Cooperstown with a halo on the cap.

Guerrero actually had a longer run with the Montreal Expos, the team for which he debuted for in 1996. As an Expo, he played for eight seasons with four All Star Game appearances with 234 Home Runs, a Slash Line of .323/.390/.588 and a bWAR of 31.8. His tenure with the Angels was only six seasons with four All Star Games, 173 Home Runs, a Slash Line of .319/.381/.546 and a bWAR 24.3.

While his numbers accumulatively in Montreal exceed that of the Angels, Guerrero’s best individual years were with the Angels. In his first year with the then named Anaheim Angels, “The Impaler” was named the American League MVP. He was the second runner-up for the Award two other times.

This may make fans of the Montreal Expos sad but there is solace in that there are already three donning that chapeau in Gary Carter, Andre Dawson and last year’s inductee, Tim Raines.

We mentioned that due to the abrupt alteration of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame’s changing of eligibility rules from five years to three years after retirement would necessitate a rapid change in our basketball list. We have done just that!

Normally when we do a significant revision we take into account your votes and comments. We are not doing that this time, as we will hold off until the change after the announcement of the next class, which will be announced during the Final Four. Rather, we are just inputting those who are now eligible into the slots where we feel they belong.

Here are the new entries to our Notinhalloffame.com Basketball List:


1. Steve Nash. The Canadian two-time NBA MVP supplants Jason Kidd at #1 on our list. The former Point Guard went to eight All Star Games, was a three time First Team All Pro and was also a five time Assists Leader.

3. Ray Allen. Allen is the all-time NBA leader in three point field goals and was a ten time All Star. Allen is also a two time NBA Champion winning a title with Boston (2008) and Miami (2013).

19. Chauncey Billups. Billups was the NBA Finals MVP for the Detroit Pistons and their shocking Championship win. He was also five-time NBA All Star.

42. Shawn Marion. “The Matrix” helped the Dallas Mavericks win the NBA Title in 2011 and he is also a four time All Star.

54. Rashard Lewis. Lewis was a two time All Star who late in his career helped the Miami Heat win the NBA Championship.

Andrei Kirilenko. From Russia, Kirilenko is a one time All Star who was once the league leader in Blocks.

Jermaine O’Neal. O’Neal went to six All Star Games and was one time Second Team All-NBA Selection. He was also chosen for a pair of Third Team All-NBA squads.

Antawn Jamison. Jamison is a two time All Star who also won the 6th Man of the Year.

Hedo Turkoglu. From Turkey, Turkoglu was named the Most Improved Player of the Year in the 2007-08 Season.
