In 2014, we expect there to be a strong contingent lobbying for the induction of Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails. We will debate that in four years time, but until then we will settle for debating the induction of a band that is credited by some for introducing Industrial music to the public; Ministry.

An earlier entry discusses the importance of the Go-Go’s who were able to make history by being the first all female band who performed all their own instruments and wrote their own songs who went to number one. As important as that feat was, there have been many who have pointed to the Runaways as being the more important all female band.

The three iconic words: Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll fit many acts on this list, but only Sex seems to fit our next act. It would be very tough to argue that any other artist exuded more sexuality (and still does) than our list’s first Welshman, Tom Jones. At the very least, no other artist (in the Hall or not) has had more pairs of women’s underwear thrown at them.

In most circles, Jazz is one of the most respected styles of music, so it would stand to reason that a fusion of Jazz and Rock would yield respect and success in the industry. In the case of Blood, Sweat & Tears it did not quite work out that way.
