Live Music Head

On the surface, a Rock band that had extensive success in the Pop charts for seven years would have decent shot at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Although Huey Lewis and the News were very successful during the 80’s, the more their career is looked at, the more likely it is that they may not get inducted.
It is inarguable that the Blues are one of the most important genres in modern music. It has been a huge part of developing Rock and Roll, and the amount of artists who have looked to interpret the Blues and make it their own are uncountable. Most are unsuccessful at putting any kind of unique spin on it; Canned Heat is not one of those bands.
As the British Invasion dominated the 60’s, few American bands seemed able to stand up to them. The Turtles were one of those bands that were successful in doing so; even though many casual fans may have thought they were British.
Hit Records? No. Well known? Not really. Influential? Absolutely! Those are three questions that describe Arthur Alexander’s musical career; because even though you may never have heard of him, we can guarantee that the people who covered his work (Bob Dylan, The Beatles & The Rolling Stones for example) are certainly artists you know.
