Oscar Drill and the Bits

Oscar Drill and the Bits
Oscar Drill and the Bits was a Punk band from the pseudo sequel of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, which realistically is the only thing worth talking about here. Beyond that fact, we aren’t sure that there is really much of a shot for this entry.

Orvis Goodnight

Orvis Goodnight
Down and Out in Beverly Hills got good reviews and made money at the box office, but for our purposes this is the movie that reintroduced the world to Little Richard, the man who many (well at least Little Richard thinks so) is the true King of Rock and Roll. Richard had been in movies before, but never was he cast as perfectly as he was here, where he got to play a former 50’s Rock Star who was now a successful music producer. Those who remember this movie might cast a vote for Orvis Goodnight.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Down and out in Beverly Hills (1986)

Actor:
Little Richard

Songs you might remember:
Great Gosh A’ Mighty

Why you should vote for him:
Little Richard was great here.

Why you should not vote for him:
For a movie that did well, it is sure forgotten.

The Oreos

Oreos The
From the 1976 remake of a Star is Born, Barbara Streisand is that said star where she is the lead singer of the Oreos (She sings with two black women…the Oreos, get it?). The film is really about her rise to stardom and gives Streisand the chance to show off her singing acumen. This may not have been the best movie in the world, but it did give Streisand another hit album and kept her string of success going.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
A Star is Born (1976)

Actors:
Barbara Streisand (Esther Hoffman)
Venetta Fields (One)
Clydie King (Two)

Songs you might remember:
Evergreen (Love Theme from A Star is Born)

Why you should vote for them:
It had a hit song, and Streisand was good in the role.

Why you should not vote for them:
Is it just us, or does the “Oreos” seem a little demeaning?

Operaman

Operaman
Adam Sandler was one of the most successful comedians to ever emerge from Saturday Night Live and one of his most basic, yet memorable characters had Sandler perform as “Operaman”, which was just Sandler singing in an operatic voice in a wig and cape, and singing his jokes. It wasn’t exactly genius, but like most of his SNL characters it worked. Still, does an Opera character (especially one with no signature songs) belong in this Hall?

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Saturday Night Live (1991-95)

Actor:
Adam Sandler

Songs you might remember:
None

Why you should vote for him:
This was one of Sandler’s more known characters.

Why you should not vote for him:
Should this even qualify?
