Rembrandt Brown

Rembrandt Brown
Rembrandt “Cryin’ Man” Brown was so named for his ability to cry real tears on command during his performances. He involuntary gets sucked into a sliding vortex (while he was in on his way to perform the National Anthem at a San Francisco Giants game) and along with three scientists where they travel from one parallel Earth to another. Although he started off as a supporting character, he was the only one to be in all five seasons, and in the last season, he was the focal point of the show.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Sliders (1994-2000)

Actor:
Cleavant Derricks

Songs you might remember:
Cry Like A Man

Why you should vote for him:
He was presented as being moderately successful.

Why you should not vote for him:
This is a science fiction show, and the fact that he was a singer was not really that important.

Reggie Wanker

Reggie Wanker
From the early 80’s cult film, “Get Crazy” we have a series of bands who played at the fictitious Saturn Theatre (modeled after the famous Filmore East) for their 15th New Year’s Eve Show. The main event of the night was Reggie Wanker (Malcolm McDowell) who was Rock and Roll excess all the way, with his over the top stage persona, drug and alcohol consumption and love of women. His pairing with his Drummer, Toad (played by John Densmore of the Doors) also led to some nice comedic work; but what else would we expect from McDowell?

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Get Crazy (1983)

Actor:
Malcolm McDowell

Songs you might remember:
Hot Shot

Why you should vote for him:
McDowell was arguably the musical star of the film; with all due respect to Lou Reed.

Why you should not vote for him:
Does headlining a concert in a film that hardly anyone saw make him a realistic contender?

The Redcoats

Redcoats The
We can’t say that we exactly remember what the plotline was that brought Chad and Jeremy to the classic 60’s sitcom, Dick Van Dyke Show, but since they were asked to play a British Invasion group called the “Redcoats”, we imagine that the duo who were a British Invasion band themselves had no issue with the role.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
The Dick Van Dyke Show (1965)

Actors:
Chad & Jeremy

Songs you might remember:
We are guessing one of their own songs? Sorry, we don’t remember.

Why you should vote for them:
This was a fake British Invasion act that was actually pretty good.

Why you should not vote for them:
Chad and Jeremy are not that high on the list you think of when the topic of British Invasion acts comes up.

Red Stovall

Red Stovall
As great an actor as Clint Eastwood (we will argue that successful as he was that he was criminally underrated) we wanted to only watch him shoot people and kick ass. As such, nobody really wanted to see Clint as Red Stovall, a dying country singer whose goal was to play the Grand Ole Opry before he passed away. Although this was far from a hit, it did receive solid critical acclaim, and if you can forget that this is Dirty Harry, it is worth watching.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
Honky Tonk Man (1982)

Actor:
Clint Eastwood

Songs you might remember:
There’s No Sweeter Cheater Than You

Why you should vote for him:
Clint will kill you if you don’t vote for him.

Why you should not vote for him:
This is not how we want to see Eastwood, and the Country factor works against him.
