gold star for USAHOF

Not in Hall of Fame News

The Football Hall of Fame announced their two Senior Candidates today. Jack Butler and Dick Stanfel were selected, and one of them will enter Canton. Butler is on the outside of our top 100 and Stanfel is ranked at #54 and as much as we would like to congratulate both of them, we are feeling terrible for Jerry Kramer who was passed over again. Needless to say, we are not pleased with that.
.....which makes us think. Even though she is undeniably Pop, does this type of unprecedented success help her become a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee in the future? Major Pop success has been a ticket to the Hall in the past.
Congratulations to Jim Thome for hitting his 600th career Home Run today. Thome has reached this milestone relatively quietly and by all accounts without controversy. It is a shame that he has not received more publicity for this achievement.
Congratulations are again in order for Dennis Rodman, Artis Gilmore, Chris Mullin, Arvydas Sabonis, Tom Sanders and Tex Winter to the Basketball Hall of Fame. For those wondering....we have FINALLY made or selections and will be presenting our top 100 shortly.
Jani Lane, the lead singer of Warrant was found dead today at the age of 47. We will admit, that this was not one of our favorite bands. They were a little on the cheesy side even by their own aerosol genre and were not exactly the most respected. Regardless, they did make it and were the last of their kind to make it big before the Grunge boom took over. Over twenty years later, and at a time when we are a liitle less pretentious about our music, Warrant is thought of by us as a fun band who…
Out with the old list....in with the new one. As the Football Hall of Fame has just inducted seven new members, we here at notinhalloffame thought now was the time to introduce the NEW Football list for Canton, Ohio. With Marshall Faulk & Prime Time entering on their first year of elgibility; Jerry Kramer has vaulted into the Number one slot. We have Will Shields entering at #3, and a few other debuts and changes as well. Give it a look and let us know what you think!
Today we celebrate the Football HOF inductions of Deion Sanders, Marshall Faulk, Ed Sabol, Richard Dent, Chris Hanburger, Les Richter and Shannon Sharpe. In a matter of days we will be unveiling our new list for our Football selections and are geared up to launce a new series of debates..... Too bad there is no Hall of Fame game.

RIP Bubba Smith

Today, Former two-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl winner, Bubba Smith passed away. As successful as he was on the gridiron, we remember him from the Miller Lite commercials and his recurring performances as Officer Hightower from the Police Academy movies. We'll miss you big guy!

Randy Moss Retires?

Is it news if we don't think it will really happen? Today, contoversial and ubertalented Wide Receiver Randy Moss announced that he was retiring from the National Football League. Moss became equally known for his effortless acrobatic catches as he was for his off field antics. Seven times he was selected to the Pro Bowl and on four occasions he led the NFL in receiving yards. If this retirement sticks, he will finish his career ranked #5 in receiving yards (14, 858) and #8 in receptions (954). An even more impressive statistic is his 153 touchdowns caught in the air…
Did we mention that we have completed our revision of our Baseball list for the upcoming year? Major changes took place on our top 100, and we plan to to come up with another 150 names for your discussion. Give it a look when you can!
