Eddie Vedder supports Pete Rose?

Normally, we would not report on the ramblings of Eddie Vedder during a concert.  I think if we did, we would have to dedicate an entire section to what the half talent/half blowhard front man of Pearl Jam would be spouting, but we thought this was a little interesting.

In a concert at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, in between his anti-war speeches to the audience, he talked about another great injustice in the world, that of the omission of Pete Rose from the Baseball Hall of Fame:

“It may not be as important as stopping a war or doing other things, but it’s still an injustice and the only way to make it right is to put Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame.  I’m a little biased because I had dinner with him the other night and we couldn’t have had a better time.”

That would have been a fun dinner to attend don’t you think?

Still, we thought it might be a little interesting to mention this, though we doubt that the Baseball Hall of Fame voters or the caretakers of the Cooperstown based institution care what Vedder thinks.  We would wager that half of them don’t know he is.
