33. George Andrie

When you think of Marquette, you don’t come up with visions of football.  Perhaps that is because the program shut down in 1960, which was the year that George Andrie was a junior.  This meant that during his senior year, he wasn’t playing football, and as such, slipped under the radar of many teams, but the Dallas Cowboys were not one of them.  He was chosen by Dallas in the 6th Round, and he was set to begin his pro career.

Andrie was a starting Defensive End immediately, and except for 1964, he was usually on the right side.  Andrie was chosen for the Pro Bowl in 1965, and he would repeat that honor in the next four seasons.  A First Team All-Pro in 1969, Andrie would help the Cowboys reach two Super Bowls, including a win at Super Bowl VI.

He retired after 1972 in a career spent entirely in Dallas.  While Sacks were not an official stat when he played, it is believed that Andrie had 97 of them.
