Randall Cunningham
If the Football Hall of Fame was based solely on excitement there should be no doubt that Randall Cunningham would have been inducted on the first ballot.  His nickname of the “Human Highlight Reel” was well deserved and he was hands down the most entertaining Quarterback of his era.

Randall Cunningham could beat you with his throwing arms or with his legs.  He excelled at scrambling and is the current all time leader for rushing yards (4,928) for a Quarterback.  This made him exciting to watch but also overshadowed his ability to throw.  Cunningham was an efficient thrower and as his speed began to wane, he was able to prove to a lot of people in the league that he could throw with the best of them.

Cunningham scrambling was not always effective as he was sacked a lot.  He did however bring so many weapons (he was also a great punter) to the field that he inspired a new generation of mobile multi faceted quarterbacks.  This should be enough to be worth a look from the Hall.

No way does Randall "I need Cris Carter as a security blanket or else I suck" Cunningham belong in the hall of fame. Yes he could run. So? As far as "quarterba cks" go, Cunningham is slightly above average. Generally I'm pretty lenient with who I think deserves to be in, and I like a big hall, but there's no way a slightly above average quarterback who could run pretty well should be in the hall of fame. It just shouldn't happen and I'm so glad that Cunningham wasn't even a preliminary nominee in 2011.

My Ding-a-LingHighest Billboard Position:#1 in 1972 If there is a Mount Rushmore of Rock and Roll for the 1950’s, Chuck Berry is a very solid candidate to be carved into it. He was one of the first inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the master of some of Rock’s early riffs. Amazingly, despite the iconic stature…
