Not in. After what John Kay did to Goldy McJohn in the late 1970s exploiting him and giving him an awful contract to sign that stripped away his royalties. McJohn died poor. Bad look, John. It's not forgotten and you don't deserve to be among rock's royalty for that move.

Mars Bonfire deserves it way more. Kay coasts off other songwriters. Look at his later work. It's full of covers. John just got lucky.

I dont believe anyone would argue that the film Easy Rider is a symbol of a generation and a culture, well Steppenwolf is pretty much the sound track of that symbol. Enough said, they belong.
