PR&TR are the American equivalent of the Dave Clark Five in the UK, similar instrumentat ion, style, etc. and equal in popularity and success with radio and record sales. Especially now that the DC5 are in the HOF the Raiders TOTALLY deserve to be inducted.

Most definitely should be in the Hall of Fame. One of the greatest bands in the US and reminded many of the soldiers fighting in Vietnam of their homeland so far away.

I grew up in the Pacific NW; Willamette Valley. Paul & the Raiders played all up and down the valley from Portland to Eugene. I attended many of their live performances /teen dances. I have NEVER attended a live concert/danc e that was more fun than a PR&R performance. In my opinion (and others') they recorded the definitive version of Louie Louie. I have heard that Mitch Miller at Capitol Records initially nixed publishing their recording and the song became connected to The Kingsmen, who did a MUCH weaker version. PR&R should be in the Hall.

Anyone who dismisses this band as bubblegum obviously hasn't listened to any of their music. Paul and the Raiders were a working band long before they were stars on Where the Action Is, and they would remain a working band long after the hit records stopped. They made some of the best pop rock records of the 60s - Kicks, Hungry, Too Much Talk, Let Me, Him or Me, Good Thing, Don't Take it So Hard - and influenced many young musicians with their showmanship and playing.

Paul Revere and the Raiders should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, for various reasons. First of all, the recordings come under the genre of hard rock (not folk music, not bubble gum rock, not glam-rock, etc.). Second, many of their songs, compositions , and recordings, are abundantly easy on the ear and invite repeated listenings. Here, I refer to all of the songs on Midnight Ride (please see my review on Amazon.com), and also to some other songs, such as Hungry, Sometimes, Gone, and Oopoopahdoo. Third, this group hosted the T.V. show, WHERE THE ACTION IS. Fourth, singer Mark Lindsay at the age of 20 was already an accomplished singer, equal in voice-qualit y and a perfected singing style equal to that of Roger Daltrey or Paul McCartney.

How in the world did The Monkees get in before Paul Revere and the Raiders. Unfortunatel y Paul is no longer with us to join the honor of being inducted. We can call it the British Invasion and nobody cares? But put American revolutionar y Uniforms on an outstanding band and that is questionable ? Very sad.

they influenced a young Jimi Hendrix, The Monkees and Roger Dodge just to name a few. The Rock Hall is amazing and yet I am not so outraged their good and nice and generous people at the ROCK HALL IN CLEVELAND. Really I know a few of them persomnally they are business men. One problem " they wouldn't know music if they HEARD IT! Sad to say this si so truee they don't get rock and roll but as scholars and historians of Pop Music I was floored. I recomend even non Rock fans visit the Hall its so worth it and I would say go several times. They are constantly changing exhibits. No Raiders Just Pretenders ? I'm almost speechless. Like i said they are business men. Not a musician it the comitteee

When they finally ask them to join, if Mark Lindsey is still alive - he should spit in their faces and film it. Mike Smith died before these fools inducted The Dave Clark Five. Pathetic.
