Steinbach debuted with Oakland in 1986, and by the next season, he was taking the majority of the duties as their Catcher. Steinbach was an above-average defensive player, and on three occasions, he was an All-Star (1988, 1989 & 1993). For his position, he was a good hitter. He had four 120 Hit campaigns and six seasons where he had at least double digits in Home Runs, which included a 35 tater year in 1996. Steinbach was a necessary cog in Oakland’s three straight Pennants (1988-90), where he batted .281 in 25 Playoff Games.
That was his last season in Oakland, as he signed with the Minnesota Twins as a Free Agent afterward. He would have 132 Home Runs with 1,144 Hits with Oakland.
