Johnson, who first came up to Orioles in 1965, would not be the best batter in the Baltimore lineup, but he did accumulate 904 Hits with 6 Home Runs for the Orioles during his tenure there (1965-72), and he helped them win the World Series in 1966 and 1970.
Johnson would become far more successful as a Manager, as, on two occasions, he won the Manager of the Year and would helm the New York Mets to a World Series in 1986. He would later enter the Orioles Hall of Fame in 1997.
